Politico reports:¹

Two members of Elon Musk’s DOGE team working at the Social Security Administration were secretly in touch with an advocacy group seeking to “overturn election results in certain states,” and one signed an agreement that may have involved using Social Security data to match state voter rolls, the Justice Department revealed in newly disclosed court papers.

There will most likely be an attempt to cancel voting registrations, especially in swing states.  We need to make sure to check  voter roles before elections and get the word out in precincts.

Hi to Everyone!  My name is Margot Bloomfield; my spouse is Ron Gutzeit. We have a rental property in Manistee, our main residence being in Northwest Metro Detroit. Ron and I attended the Manistee No Kings rally back in the summer and signed up to be a part of your group. I am so glad we did! This last post made by Bill regarding the Trump criminal enterprise was well stated. We agree that those Americans who are complacent about what is going on in our country need to be made aware. The most recent news today regarding Trump proposing that the states should no longer oversee their state elections, that the federal government Republicans should have the oversight powers- this is truly alarming and signals that our voting rights could be compromised. Trump and friends are squeezing the life out of our democracy and soon the point of no return may be here. I want to offer my time and services to help our group in what we need to do in order to prevent this from happening. Right now, the way I see it, the tools we have at hand are 1) Writing our opinions on news opinion pages 2) Writing or calling congress members in both the house and senate, both Democrat and Republicans 3) Identify and boycott businesses supporting Trump and the GOP 4) Print flyers with news points and make available to the community 5) Plan and attend future rally's. I suggest that if members have other ideas, to share them with us. I know that the seething anger and fear I feel everyday are the same feelings you all have. Let us know what day and time you will be there and many of us will come to meet you.  BTW, we're having a fun gathering at the Outsiders Restaurant

Hi Margot and Ron,

I love your email

I love it when people think like I do.

I’m not a great acttivist like Shirley Madden and so many  others, but I do what I can to make people in Manistee county face  the fact that the  narcissistic ,fascist ,

is trying to ruin our country. 

My sister who is nearly 100% blind and lives down state 

recently joined the Manistee Democrats too ,because

 although nearly sightless she is well aware of what they do. 

Together we’ve participated in some of the demonstrations/parades locally.

I did not know about a possible,  HELLO  this Friday.

Love that idea too.

Probably won’t make it to that or the Saturday thing….

But I will be there on ON     NO KINGS DAY II. MARCH  28 th 

even if our paths never cross, I am thrilled that you want to join 

the good folk in Manistee county.

opinionated  but … committed to lots of things, including be sure you and Ron come to downtown Brethren sometime,

If  you haven’t been out county, 

we have a wonderful James Earl Jones/Donald Crouch  mentorship statue . 

It is right in front of BRETHREN  high school.

 BEHIND the school is a great globe ,done by the students at  BHS

(Kaleva Norman Dickson  Schools  [.KND].

While you’re out here have lunch either at TRAAKS IN BRETHREN 

or go to the KALEVA BAR (5 miles north )

They both have good food. 

KALEVA has many things you can see on a short walking tour. 

The stained glass artwork on the coner is in recognition of 

KALEVA’s FINNISH heritage.

 Lots of other cool things to see, including 

the GRASSHOPPER!!!.

Hi Judith, thanks for your lovely email! I am also old, wordy and opinionated. When I was driving to work, I was listening to NPR. They always have good speakers and articles on. Robert Kagan from The Atlantic was on, and he wrote a good article "America vs. the World. I do not have a subscription, but I pulled up the link for anyone who is interested. He is a historian, former neo-conservative. His view is that we are already living in a dictatorship. I will post the link. Looking forward to meeting you.  Margot
