YOUR Help is Needed!

Manistee County Democrats:

Sorry to fill up your email boxes, but I have just been made aware of a problem that we need to find help to address as soon as possible!

The Manistee homeless shelter (Safe Harbor) is in desperate need of volunteers who are willing to stay overnight to ensure a safe and secure rest for those who need this warm place to sleep.  Two friends or husband/wife teams can volunteer together, or if you are single, someone will be assigned to work with you.  

I have done this in the past and can assure you that it is not dangerous in any way.  The people staying there are gentle and kind and appreciative of the safe, warm place to sleep.  The two volunteers on night watch duty can work in shifts to allow one to sleep while the other remains awake.  

I hope that you are able to help.  Please call Ellen Somsel at 231-392-6679 to let her know you are willing to help.  Let's demonstrate that Democrats really do care about others by helping Safe Harbor!
