MANISTEE COUNTY DEMOCRATS!

We have a lot to think about this Memorial Day!  We are engaged in a war that was started for no justifiable reason other than to distract us from rape and pedophilia but has resulted in increased costs for fuel, groceries, and electricity for those who can least afford it.  Big Oil continues to receive federal subsidies while reporting record profits.  Big Tech billionaires are spinning stories to justify stealing our fresh water and electricity while getting tax breaks to build AI data centers.  I just hope this Memorial Day we can all focus and REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!  We can all win by voting for positive change up and down the ballot.

Monday, May 25 is Memorial Day!  Plan to attend the parade in Manistee that starts at 10am goes down River Street across the Maple Street bridge and ends at the Veterans Memorial Park where there will be a solemn ceremony honoring those who have died in service defending our freedom.

On Wednesday, May 27 at 10am the Feeding America Food Truck will be at the Lakeshore Church parking lot behind Burger King.  We can use your help to pack the groceries for distribution to over 300 food insecure families in Manistee County. When we have a strong group of volunteers, we are able to move over 8000 lbs. of food and be done before 12 noon.

Saturday May 30 will be a busy day in Manistee!  US Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow will join us at the Outsider restaurant on River Street from 11:30am to 1:00pm.  She will meet and listen to the concerns and issues that Manistee County voters expect our next US Senator to work on. You will want to hear her positions on these issues and become more knowledgeable to help make the decision in the August 4th primary that will select the Democratic candidate for US Senator to replace Gary Peters who is retiring.  Be sure to get there early as the last crowd we had for a US Senate candidate was standing room only.  Come and get one of the Outsider's great smashburger combos for lunch and hang out with people who care about electing someone who will have the courage to speak truth to power.

Manistee's Pride in the Park will begin Saturday May 30 at 1pm at the First Street beach Lions' Pavilion.  Come to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community after you have heard from Mallory.  There will be information tables, fun games, good food, and great people who are working diligently to retain the same rights to live and love we all deserve as citizens of this great country.

The Manistee County Democratic Party will have two billboards up on US31 in Manistee beginning on July 1st!  We are actively raising money to pay for these messages. We want to be able to pay for these billboards and provide financial support to our local candidates for Michigan state senate and house of representatives.  We are confident that you will be proud of these messages as you drive by.  They will be up until October 31st.  You can follow this link to our GoFundMe page https://gofund.me/9e6ee9e8d or you can mail a check to POBox 65 Manistee, MI 49660.
