RE:  NATIONAL HANDS-OFF, APRIL 5^TH RALLY PLANNED FOR MANISTEE

A national Hands-Off! rally is being scheduled for April 5th at the Washington Monument on the National Mall in Washington DC on Saturday, April 5^th. The rally is to bring attention to the alarm and distrust citizens are feeling at the dismantling of our government institutions and the restricting of our democratic freedoms by the Trump Administration.  

Hands-Off rallies are also being held in major cities throughout the U.S. including in Manistee, MI.  On Saturday, April 5^th, concerned citizens are invited to gather at Cypress St. (US 31) between First St. and River St. around 1:00 pm.  Citizens are asked to bring their own signs to display.  A march will take place from 1:30-2:00 pm along River Street ending at the West Shore Community College River St. Campus.  We will then assemble in classroom B for refreshments, speakers and discussions.

A charter bus is also in discussion to take hard-core protestors from Manistee to the Washington DC Rally.  Contact Jo Hall at jo.hall...@gmail.com for more information.

This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos. A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them.

They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now.

I’m planning on printing out flyers to advertise the protest. Going to put them up on bulletin boards around town. Library, post office, laundromats, grocery store, any other suggestions? Maybe senior center? Anyone have a church that would announce it?
