Kiwanis Project- Hamlin Field

Okay guys, here is what we've got so far.

Our project has been approved by the city, and the event is posted on our Facebook page. Please share it as much as possible so we can get a good turnout!

I have the direct contact info for the Ludington Home Depot store manager. I am going to contact him this week to try to get them to donate materials for the project. Once we have them, or another sponsor on board, we need to contact the Manistee Advocate and let them know what we are doing to try to get some promotion in the paper. We will also need to make up a flyer to post around town to promote this event and get volunteers. If anyone knows of anyone that would like to help, please recruit them! We are going to hold the event starting at 10am at Hamlin Field.

Chris, have you found out anything about the car for the parade?

Does anyone know who we need to contact to have an entry in the parade? We need to get our club entered asap so we have that covered.

T-shirts. We need to get t-shirts ordered as soon as possible to make sure we have them by July 1st. Janeen, please pick out a t-shirt from the catalog and order one for each club members as we discussed. The club agreed at the last meeting that we would go ahead with this. We are planning to wear them at the Hamlin Field event, and also the parade to promote the club. We also need to get stickers or pencils or something like that, and additional club membership brochures ordered at the same time to pass out at the parade and the Hamlin Field event.

If anyone else has ideas for either event please let us all know. We need all hands on deck for this, so it anyone has ideas for volunteers, sponsors, etc, run with it! I am going to contact Home Depot this week, but otherwise, let's get as many people as possible on board for this!

The city holds control over the field. It is technically in a trust, but the city has to approve everything that is done there.

I  thought the trust fund for Judge Hamlin gave it to Kiwanis and when Kiwanis no longer was a Kiwanis club then it went back to the Estate of Judge Hamlin.???

No it was named as the Kiwanis Hamlin Field and would keep the Kiwanis name as long as the club existed, however we do not have any stake in the field. Judge Hamlin was a long time Kiwanian which is why it has our name.
