Meeting of 04/24/17

Suggestions made at the meeting last night. (There were four people there, but the President and Secretary were not in attendance so no votes were taken.)

 

1. Disband Kiwanis.  Membership has not grown in months, shows no indication of growing and few are attending.

2. Fund the two Camp Scholarships application received. (Treasurer has applications and can notify the two recipients [email] and send the checks)

3. Pay existing bills: Storage, Sports Ink and ??? (Somebody should pick up the onesies and deliver to the Munson gift shop after the bill is paid. Do not pay for Kiwanis website. Do not send out bills for second quarter.)

4. Donate $1000.00 to Community Meals Program. (Treasurer needs to contact program and figure out who to write the check to.)

5. Contact MDOT about inability to continue with Adopt a Highway. (Suggest that Secretary should do this.)

6. Donate all Pancake Breakfast equipment to Armory Youth Project. (Somebody has to notify AYP and make arrangement for pickup. (I may be able to help with this depending on schedule.)

7. Donate remaining funds to the Manistee Community Foundation for Arts, Sports and Academic Camp Scholarships. (Contact Laura Heintzleman about how to do this.)

The secretary (me) was meeting with a surgeon regarding the car accident I had been in and the several surgeries I now have to have as a result of the injuries I sustained in the accident.

Everyone please plan to attend on May 8th at 6pm for our next meeting. We will take a vote then to decide the fate of the club. Please also bring a suggestion for allocating funds if the vote to fold is made. If that is decided we will work as a group to decide how the funds are allocated, but will try to make sure something goes to each person's choice of organization. We will also need to decide what is to be done with any other items, such as banners, etc that are in the storage unit. Possible donation to a local museum maybe? 

We will look at all suggestions and make our decision. 

I hope to see everyone on May 8th.
