Hi,
I'm using a Windows Surface Pro for R, haven't had too many problems with downloading packages until recently
when I wanted to download dplyr.  That goes through all the packages ending with dplyr (which shows up in the library) but then I get the message:

installing the source package ‘pillar’
and a bit later:
** testing if installed package can be loaded
*** arch - i386
Warning in library(pkg_name, lib.loc = lib, character.only = TRUE, logical.return = TRUE) :
there is no package called 'pillar'
Error: loading failed
Execution halted

when I try to download pillar separately, I also run into similar problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Maybe paste the entire readout?

Sounds like Pillar didn't build correctly or maybe a dependency. Are you building other required packages with it? Installing dplyr can be really heavy.
