Favorite IHG Hotel: Intercontinental Singapore

While everybody else has posted their dream destination hotel, I'll take a different route by posting my favorite IHG Hotel (as of date). It may not be the most prestigious IHG Hotel there is, but it is one that reminds me of what a good year it has been for me in IHG.

It was last year when I had a chance to stay at Intercontinental Singapore, but it was no ordinary stay as I was there with the whole Channel Integration team. It was there where I first met our regional stakeholders and VP's. It was a venue not only for us to WORK BETTER TOGETHER and AIM HIGHER for the team, but also to CELEBRATE DIFFERENCE. Though our main purpose there was work, we didn't miss the chance to bond and enjoy our stay in Intercontinental SG. Being only rooms away, we had the opportunity to get to know each other better, to SHOW WE CARE. Yes, this brand is targeted toward business travelers and you might think that it would have that uptight vibe, but it didn't fail to make us feel at home during our five-day stay. (Even the lobby itself was quite homey. ^.^) From the concierge to the room service, all of the staff were friendly, accommodating and there to DO THE RIGHT THING, staying true to IHG's brand standards. And of course, the food was great! (Breakfast buffet, anyone?^.^)

I kinda felt attached to the place that leaving felt like a hard thing to do even if it was home I was heading to. It was my first taste of the Intercontinental life, and you never forget firsts right? ^.^

I totally agree with you! The first time I traveled outside the country, I chose to stay in InterContinental Singapore. I am a fan of their hotel ever since! ;-)

I arrive a few hours ago from Singapore, and I need to say this is the greatest city I have been so far. I had the chance to visit our hotels in the iconic and well design city and I definitely support Kathy's opinion on this. The classic and elegant Intercontinental Singapore is a master piece. IHG should invest more and more in this city. I can't wait the opening of the new Holiday Inn Express there.

It was a memorable and fun experience for me living an Intercontinental life in SG. Being with great people in Channel Integration team and our ever supporting stakeholders: Ben, Erica, Ada, Prem and of course Sandy. Having the opportunity also to meet and bond with the VP's was an overwhelming experience. I really hope I could revisit Intercontinental SG  ^_^ A really good place to stay and as what Kathy mentioned, good food.. hihi (^_^)

I also like this hotel because of its great location! National Library at the other side of the road, mall right at the exit, IHG Corporate office just a few strides, near MRT and bus terminals. Am I writing my own blog already?

SINHB is strategically located which adds to the charm of the hotel. The property is a fusion of both the old and new Singapore with regional touches and the classic IC ambiance. I agree that the staff was above par and the facilities well kept. I loved staying at this property and I'm sure that anyone who has a flair for the best would too. :)

Stayed at this hotel twice already. I really love this hotel. Very convenient location. Near shops and is accessible to the MRT and bus station. And you should also try their "pillow" menu. There's an extra charge but I'm sure it will be worth it. Will stay here again the next time I visit the city.

The IC Singapore is my favourite hotel - for many reasons - its only a few mins from the office ( which I like to visit as there's always a warm welcome) no traffic jams, taxi journeys etc and even if raining you can shelter through the mall there or back. It now feels like a home from home and the atmosphere makes me feel relaxed, the staff are friendly and the food is wonderful in choice and variety. Often, I stay there after a great working trip to Manila, having seen all the team in the office and leave in such great spirits. I like to stop off on my way back to London and reflect on the all the good things....its a great place to do so

I to had a special stay at the InterContinental Singapore - but what made it special was getting to put faces and personalities to all the channel integration team in Manila having a nice chat over the breakfast buffet - and getting to eat curry even at breakfast!

On my departure the hotel receptionist also gave me a gift - an InterContinental branded swiss army knife. I didn't have the heart to tell them I would have to give it away prior to boarding my flight, else I would be considered a suspected terrorist.

I have been on work retreats before and also feel that the environment definitely adds to the success of the trip because it puts everyone in a relaxed and open mood. When you're relaxed, you are more receptive to creativity and ideas!

I have been to the InterContinental Singapore twice in the last month....and was there last year. I really like the staff there and the more sentimental feeling you get from the style of this hotel. Like Apurva, I really enjoyed meeting the team that came over last year. We really appreciate what the team in Manila does for all of us....great idea to launch this website! Cheers, Lincoln

Great hotel to stay in, and brilliant to be able to enjoy a breakfast with the whole team before just a short walk to the office.
However much i enjoyed the hotel, the highlight was being there with the whole team (even if i did miss out on making it into Kathy's picture).

Great Hotels Guests (and Staff) Love!

I work in the Singapore Corporate Office. I love this hotel and when I pass the hotel en route to lunch or home, I am always reminded of where my journey as a hotelier started. After working in our CRO in Singapore, this was my first hotel job!

I am glad Kathy and the CI Analyst Team, the regional VPs and Analysts enjoyed their visit to Singapore, both at work and off work. I enjoyed the opportunity to host and took pleasure in knowing we all had a good and fruitful week together.
