The first class, we are using a kids book which I was a bit worried
about but most of the lesson was not that and it actually worked out
well. We had some time where we would read something and the teacher
would correct our tones and pronunciation. We sort of have gone back
to basic sentence structures which is good for me, I still have
trouble with the grammar and making sentences without a book.
Our teacher almost spoke 100% Mandarin but she slowed when we had
blank looks on our face and when we didn't know what she said we would
often look up in the dictionary. She would also write 100% characters
on the whiteboard.
One good aspect was the teacher got us to make a sentence and then she
would write it on the whiteboard and would suggest how to make it
better. This bit was extremely useful. I suppose the class is catered
to our level as guys of the class where all about the same.
Teacher seems good she caters for our level.. We had a small kids
class in the same room as us. Next week we should have our own
classroom.
The cost, I don't have the receipt with me. I think I paid 270 for 6
months for both me and my daughter. I'll check again (I'm not at
home). I think its 180 dollars for just myself.
