Hi folks,

First let me apologize for posting this in the 2.0 forum. If there is a 2.9 forum please point me to it and I will post there.

And now my main point. I have two separate Mandala 2.9 pads. One works well, but on the other, when I strike it near the center, I also see the rim is detecting in the Virtual Brain software. It's like there are phantom strikes on the rim. I guess the position detection membrane might have a problem.

I saw another fellow who posted that he sent his 2.0 in for repair, but since the Mandala web site now points to a kickstarter-like campaign, I don't see a place where I can get in touch with tech support.

Would you please direct me to the tech support folks, or otherwise let me know how I'd be able to fix this myself?

Thanks in advance guys!

Best regards,

William Benner

PS: I perused this group and it looks pretty lively. A lot of smart people here!

There's an email link and a link to the Mandala forums at the bottom of http://mandaladrum.com.  You might have to clear your browser's cache if you still get pointed to their kickstarter page.  You can always email techsupport at synesthesiacorp dot com too.

Sounds like you need to do a File>Preferences>Center Calibration to your pad using the Virtual Brain program.  That would take care of what you are describing.  Also check your Rim Sensitivity setting in those Preferences.  I have mine at 82 and it works well.

I've had the sane issue before. Try loosening the tension bolts ever so much
Allthe way around til it stops. Ibet almost anything that will do it. Oh and lower the rim sensitivity to about 70 or 80 in the v3 virtual brain. - Caleb
