Celebrate National Library Week, April 11-17
Tues. Apr. 13, 6:30pm Crocheting and Knitting for a Cause
with special guest Christine Baisden, Pyramid Office Supplies
The Chain Gang is a group of local knitters and crocheters Christine has recruited to make infant caps, preemie caps, and special chemotherapy hats. The hats are donated to area hospitals, where they're hugely appreciated by their recipients -- Christine has the thank you notes to prove it! Come to this program to learn more about The Chain Gang and other opportunities to use your crafting skills for a good cause.
Tuesday is also National Library Workers Day.
Recognize helpful library staff by nominating them for a star at the NLWD web site.
Wed. Apr. 14, 10am-8pm Library Community Bake Sale
Pick up a sweet treat during your usual visit, or make a special stop for a yummy snack. Your multi-talented library volunteers, trustees and staff will have a variety of baked goods available for sale. Proceeds will be used to buy movies from The Popcorn Club wish list.
Fri. Apr. 16, 10am-6pm Xtra Big Book Sale
The Friends book sale, which is open every day on the 2nd floor of the library, will be supplemented today only with additional carts of books for sale. Stop by to see what's here and grab a bargain.
Sat. Apr. 17, 1:30pm On Eating Local with Amie Mongeau, Two Creeks Organics
Lately there's been a lot of news about and interest in eating local, eating organic, eating clean... what does it all mean? Does it cost more? Is it better for your health, the economy, or the environment? Amie will help demystify the local foods movement, and will also explain how community supported agriculture works. Questions from the audience are welcome!
