2011 Manchester Medieval Faire
Sat. Aug. 27 - 12-6pm
at Carr Park, Manchester MI
Exhibitions by re-enactors will bring the middle ages to life, from the King and Queen in the Royal Pavilion to craftsmen and peasants. We'll have craft activities, puppet shows, games, demonstrations by local crafts people including pottery, basket weaving, herbalism and falconry, and more!
The Faire will take place at Carr Park, rain or shine, and is free and open to all ages. Practice your HUZZAH! and bring a friend!
DIA Inside|Out
Wed. Aug. 17 - 7pm
in the Village Room Curious about the paintings displayed outdoors around Manchester this summer? Learn more at this presentation by DIA staff. The talk will include a PowerPoint display of some of the DIA's greatest pieces. Free and open to the public; no pre-registration required.
Native American Tales
Mon. Aug. 22 - Noon in the Library
Manchester alum Stacy Kempher has spent her summer working as an Explorer Guide at Hayes State Park. She'll bring her knowledge to the library on Monday, Aug. 22 to talk about Native Americans in Michigan, followed by a craft session where participants get to make their own dream catcher. Bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy while Stacy reads Native American tales! Geared to kids ages 5 and up; all ages welcome.
