Sat. Aug. 21, 12-4pm
Medieval Faire
The library invites you to its first ever Medieval Faire in August! We're working with the Society for Creative Anachronism as well as local enthusiasts and artists to recreate life in the Middle Ages for an afternoon. Games for kids and adults alike, demonstrations of spinning and pottery, reenactments, refreshments, library staff in costume -- you won't want to miss it!
The Faire will be held outdoors in the field right next to the library, rain or shine. Special thanks to our donors Worth Repeating, the Friends of the Library, and our many volunteers, who make this event possible!
Wed. Aug. 25, 7pm Book Discussion Group:
A Superior Death by Nevada Barr
In August the group is reading an early entry from Nevada Barr's excellent series about park ranger Anna Pigeon. Set on Isle Royale, it has all the elements of a great, classic mystery with the additional bonus of a Michigan location.
Extra copies of the book will be available for checkout at the library. Join us in person at the discussion group, or on-line at GoodReads. No registration necessary.
