Winter Science Program Workshops This year’s theme, Beyond Earth: Exploring Outer Space!, promises to be fun for everyone involved. Sign up today for one program or all three! Workshop 1: Look Up at the Sky! Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m. When you look up at the night sky, what do you see? · Discover how to read star maps and find the brightest stars on your own · Learn about the big star closest to Earth: our Sun · Can we track the Sun’s movement to tell time? Make a sundial and see! Workshop 2: Planet Adventures! · Find out what makes something a planet, and learn all about the planets in our Solar System and how they move around the Sun · Design a life form that might survive on another planet! Workshop 3: Missions into Space! Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m. · When did people start exploring space? How did they get there? Launch your own rocket and find out! · How do astronauts live and eat in Earth orbit? · Find out how to survive in space and prepare a space meal · Learn about future crewed missions into space and discover the cool spacecrafts of tomorrow!
Open to kids ages 6-11 accompanied by an adult. Please, no younger siblings (real science experiments are involved!) Advance registration is required.
