Hi,

Is there a simple way to make the WP search functionality only search for full words not partial words. Some of the results that are coming back are not that great.

Regards,
Michael

Michael ( it does requires a bit of configuration.  Works ok on a few clients sites )

• Fuzzy matching: match partial words, if complete words don't match.

Sorry, should have explained that better. I want to turn off fuzzy match, so just complete word match is enabled.

On one site, fuzzy search seems to be enabled by default, which isn't something that has been actively configured and I remember a few months ago fuzzy match wasn't something that was in place. So I can only assume that something in a WP Core update has turned fuzzy search on by default?

Regards,
Michael

For future reference for anyone else wanting to do this, this seems to have done the trick, http://tinygod.pt/make-wordpress-search-exact/
