Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that the next meet is this Thursday, from around
6.15pm at MDDA's offices:
http://www.manchesterdda.com/directions

There's power and free wifi, so feel free to bring a laptop or your
preferred intertube device.

As for to talk about, I thought I'd talk about developing a 'knowledge
base' type site using WP, maybe have a look at WordPress.tv (an excuse
to put feet up and watch videos!), and have a heated debate about
techniques for keeping a development and live copy of a site in sync
(lessons learned, preferred techniques, etc.). If anyone wants to give
a talk, discuss something or show off a piece of work, feel free.
(Simon? Plugins talk? Huh huh huh?)

As usual, we'll probably have a show and tell at the end.

Look forward to seeing you there. If you are coming along, please say
so here – it would help me figure out numbers and if I need to switch
rooms at MDDA.

Ta,
Alan.

I can give a talk about a pretty cool way of configuring WordPress I
learnt about about at WordCamp UK last summer from Sam Bauers
(Automattic's BBPress guy); it helps keep everything easier to update,
and makes it easier to use Subversion version control, or easier to do
FTP updates if that's more your thing... or if that sounds too
hardcore I can do a plugin intro or plugin development talk... or
probably just waffle on about stuff and contradict myself if asked to
talk off the cuff.

Paul Carruthers keeps going on about Virtual MultiBlogs on the
Twitter, so if he's coming I'd be interested to hear about that. ;)

Finally (after having to cancel twice) I'll be at this one. I'm
looking forward to it.

HI all, I'd like to come along tomorrow. I'm very new to WP and I'm
just trying to get my head around its potential etc.
Look forward to meeting you all.
