Scheduled Post Mike? with perhaps auto post here and all the other places?

There was some discussion around developing a plugin for WPUK event
listing may be we should as a group develop a plugin that does that?

Main WPUK site can run a server version of the plugin that could sync
events as required keeping everything in sync.

Just a thought!

I am looking to automate something. Currently I need to announce it
on the mwug.info blog,
this mailing list,
the madlab site,
the meetup group,
twitter,
facebook,
and linkedin

probably more as we go along.

Perhaps I just need an assistant!

Many thanks to you and Azzam for a great session last night Mike.

On the subject of topics for future presentations, is there any way we could have a ‘suggestions box’ and a voting system on the MWUG site?

That way, you would know which topics were genuinely in demand

It also seems to me that the group is made up of WP users at three levels

1.       Beginners

2.        Intermediate

3.        Advanced

And I would put Azzam’s presentation at level 2, whilst some of the recent PHP coding stuff seems to me at level 3

I don’t think it’s a good idea to split up what is obviously a healthily growing membership –

but it might be an idea to have a slot on each agenda for each of these levels ?

Best wishes

Mike and folk

I second Roy's thanks. It was a very good meeting. As usual there were some
questions that I would like to have had to ask so can I put them here...:-)

1) Page Rank is one measure and it is a bit of a black art, truncated by
Google and only published intermittently. I know quite a few bloggers
(mainly in the US) who have had their PR suddenly dropped from 3/4 down to
0/1. Has anyone else seen this? The blogs were in the personal finance area
and not all blogs were affected but it was odd (and some people were
understandably annoyed).

2) There is also MozRank which claims to be similar to PageRank but is
published much more openly. It is also domain-orientated rather than
page/post specific and finer grained. Does anyone use this - or have any
comments?

3) SEO doesn't like iframes but Facebook social boxes use them - on our site
there are 21 iframes and all these seem to come from FB! (I haven't added
any on this site and I don't think there are any natively in WP). Is there
any way round that? SEOQuake pointed this out to me....:-(

4) I am using FF 11.0 on XP mainly and the SEOMoz bar from SEOMoz.org just
gives zeros everywhere. I have googled this and the suggestion is to remove
the extension then reinstall it but this doesn't seem to do any good. Has
anyone else had this problem?

Hiya Guys,

I'm so annoyed I missed it last night.  In my defence I was sat on the M60 having not moved in traffic for half an hour when he meet up started :(

Did anyone do any slides or anything? Would be interested in reading.

Next time I am taking the train in...

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY INFORMATION

This e-mail communication isn't strictly confidential, and chances are I won't mind at all if you forward it to everyone you know and your cat. In fact the only thing I do mind is people sending me chain e-mail after chain e-mail, send me the odd good one, naked bird content is usually a bonus. Or genuinly funny ones. Oh, while we're on this subject, please refrain from sending me any virus warnings. Regardless of how badly it will destroy my PC and kill my house plants if my next door neighbour has a friend who thinks his cousin in Australia may have looked at an icon which was this virus. I will take my chances into my own hands about viruses. Oh yeah, while I'm at it, that 'virus' with the teddy bear icon isn't a virus, and if you've deleted it already don't worry, if you didn't know it wasn't a virus you don't need it. If I ended up sending this e-mail to the wrong person, don't worry about it. But if you know who I was supposed to send it to and can send it on to save me time doing it that'd be great. If not just e-mail me back letting me know I screwed up somewhat and I'll no doubt apologise.

Folks

Just to update on the iframes and alt tags. The source of the iframes is the
Really Simple Share Facebook Like button that puts FB, Twitter, email and
other things as configured into an iframe. And none of the little images of
fb or twitter has an alt-tag (or it is empty). I was blaming FB unfairly
although the social plugin is quite slow to load.

So a page that has 10 posts will have 10 iframes to start with.:-(

Does anyone know a better 'simple' plugin that includes FB, TW and possibly
email?

You can check out our site at www.themoneyprinciple.co.uk. It's my wife's
blog but I do the technical stuff on it. The theme has been developed from
an Artisteer-originated version. Feel free to comment!!! I know there are
bits to do to it...
