I have become involved in helping organise the event described below.

Firstly, I think people on this list might be interested in the event and possibly wish to attend.

Secondly it may be that some of you are keen to either give a talk about what you do, run a workshop or have a stand.

If any of these appeal to you, please let me know….

RSA FutureMaker Day: Invitation to participate

Wednesday 19^th June 2013

Day: 11:00 – 17:00

Evening: 18:00 – 21:00

Embankment Galleries, Somerset House, WC2

The RSA & The Comino Foundation are hosting a day-long interactive showcase and celebration of making.

We believe in the power of making, and want to help grow the infrastructure and opportunities for designing and making at a local level, both in London and around the country. Through this event, we aim to bring together and connect the varied groups interested in this agenda, as well as to introduce to those who are not currently involved, the amazing work that is being done.

Hosted in the newly ‘unlocked’ basement on Somerset House, we are bringing the maker community together in a central London location.

The day time session will consist of interactive demos, presentations, workshops and screenings. This will be followed by an evening of talks and discussions aimed at influencers in the country to highlight the potential of grass-roots designing and making to lead to a resurgence and redirection in Britain’s manufacturing economy. Speakers in this session will pose these questions while the demonstrations and displays continue.

We would love you to be involved with the event!

Our participants have the opportunity to:

• Have a ‘stall’ in our maker-market place throughout the day, where you will be able to demo and interact with other invitees and audience
• Present a talk or host a timetabled workshop during the day
• Screen video
