Hi Mark, DJ, all (and thanks Stephanie for putting me in touch :)
Apologies for the late response. I've been on a train most of the day
with *very* spotty connectivity.

As Stephanie mentioned, I'm helping to organize Google's participation
in the upcoming Hack4Transparany event, happening at the European
Parliament in Brussels, November 8th and 9th. We're currently looking
to recruit applicants, and would love your help getting the word out
to those in your communities who'd be interested.
The event focuses on convening talented hackers for two days of food,
fun, and working to make important data intelligible to everyday
people. All expenses will be paid by organizers, with a chance at
3000.00 Euro prize money.
Selected hackers will work along two tracks. The first focuses on
making information more accessible online, visualizing sources like
The Google Transparency Report, Herdict, and OpenNet Initiative; the
second concentrates on helping average people understand their
broadband performance using measurement tests and data from
Measurement Lab.
In the interest of brevity, I'll leave the description at that. But
please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments,
and thanks in advance for your help here :)
Cheers,
Meredith

Hi all,
We've made a few changes to EU Hackathon application rules, and I
wanted to let you know so that you could inform your members of the
latest:

We've extended the deadline for the Internet Quality track to Friday, Oct. 21
And, we've added a data-visualization option to the Internet Quality
track, to ensure that people with a diverse set of skills can work on
making performance data meaningful.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, and thanks again for
your help!
Cheers,
Meredith
