Hi guys,

London GTUG is organizing a talk on Chrome and HTML5 in march which
might be of interest to some of you.
I've copied the official blurb below. Please spread the word around.

Thanks,

Announcing a new meetup for London-GTUG members!

What: Chrome Extensions, HTML5 and Chromium OS Talk by Chrome
Developer Relations Team

When: 16th March, 2010

Where: TBD (The venue will be finalized closer to the event date)

Follow us: @ChromiumDev/meetup-lon, @londongtug

Description:

Chromium is an open-source browser project that aims to build a safer,
faster, and more stable way for all Internet users to experience the
web. Extensions are a great way to add more features and functionality
to the browser. Sometimes, a feature is really useful for some people,
but not for everyone. Extensions let you customize Google Chrome with
features you like, while keeping your browser free of clutter that you
don't use.

Arne Roomann-Kurrik and Paul Kinlan from the Chrome Developer
Relations team will walk you through the developer APIs for creating
an extension.

HTML5 is a set of new technologies to build rich internet applications
such as Canvas, SVG, WebSockets, localStorage, Web Workers,
Application Cache, WebGL and many more.

We will speak about how you, as web designers and web developers, can
take advantage of those new features right away.

Chromium OS is an open-source project that aims to build an operating
system that provides a fast, simple, and more secure computing
experience for people who spend most of their time on the web.

We have a speaker from the Chrome Developer Relations to talk about
the design, goals, and vision of the next generation OS.

Speakers:

Arne Kurrik: Arne is a Developer Programs Engineer at Google,
working with the Chrome team. Just like the rest of you, he puts his
pants on one leg at a time; except that once his pants are on, he
makes excellent samples, developer tools, and documentation.

Paul Kinlan: Paul Kinlan is a Developer Programs Engineer working
with the Chrome and iGoogle teams. He likes writing personal bio's.

Ernest Delgado: Ernest is a Developer Programs Engineer at Google
working with the Google Chrome Team. Prior to Google, he was working
as a Front End Engineer at Yahoo! trying to become a JavaScript guru.

Jeremy Orlow: Jeremy is a Software Engineer working on HTML5
technologies within Google Chrome.

Vivian Li: Vivian is a Developer Advocate at Google working with
the Chrome team. Previously, she also worked on OpenSocial, Google
Friend Connect, GWT and Google data APIs and AdSense API.

Agenda:

* 5:45 - 6:00: Registration
* 5:45 - 6:30: Social and mingle

Sorry folks, I moderated this too late.

I'm desperately trying to get back above water so we can organise
another meetup here in Manchester. Any takers / interest?
