My mother-in-law, Seethalakshmi (66 years), a retired professor, was
diagnosed of ovarian cancer with a tumour marker (CA-125) of over
4000+ on 20-Jan-11. We're told that she's in the 3rd stage. She had a
huge accumulation of peritoneal fluid. She almost lost her appetite.
She's asked to undergo 3 cycles of chemotherapy followed by surgery
and then another 2 rounds of chemotherapy. The oncologist told that
after this she'll be ok but it's not a permanent cure and there is a
high chance of recurrence.
Mom underwent her first cycle of chemotherapy on 24-Jan-11. She had
side effects like loss of appetite, leg pain, back pain and
constipation. Our family knew Mr. Manas and his services for years and
decided to take treatment from him in parallel. We started treatment
from Mr Manas on 31-Jan-11. Treatment included fixing some tiny
magnets on the fingers and toes, breathing exercise, some juices and
doing acupressure on palm, fingers and feet. After this she started
feeling lighter every other day and almost felt normal in 4 - 5 days.
Her stomach size was measured everyday and it was reducing 0.5 to 1
inch everyday, which suggest reduction in accumulated peritoneal
fluid. Her appetite also increased day by day, suggesting good
improvement.
The second cycle of chemotherapy was scheduled on 15-Feb-11. Doctor
checked her one day before and said the peritoneal fluid reduced
significantly and is almost not there now. He said that clinically she
is showing significant improvement, which is much more than expected.
On 15-Feb-11, she underwent second cycle of chemotherapy. On
17-Feb-11, she started getting side effects like loss of appetite,
tastelessness, loose motion and severe tiredness, dry and itchy skin
with rashes.
On 17-Feb-11, we're at Manas place to continue the treatment. Manas
put some magnets for these side-effects of chemotherapy. In around
10-15 minutes, all side effects vanished! Mom says, she's feeling very
normal, she's not tired at all! :-). As of today, none of the side
effects of second Chemotherapy persisting and physically she is quite
better and has a flat stomach.
I'll continue to update about mom's progress in this forum.
