Western Food
Peter Cat/Mocambos (Park St) ~ Crappy food. Crappy treatment. Too expensive. Highly Un-Recommended!

South Indian
Banana Leaf ~ Okay Okay. Not that good, even the South Indian food tastes more like Kolkata-feed delicacies. Except for 1 item or so.

baki dekh lo yaar..

Nizam and Tengra are compulsory. There is a place called Dacres Street where you get lots of Street Food. Banana Leaf is all right i have heard. Bhojo Hori Manna should also be included. Dont go to KC Das for sweets, they are not good. Haldiram's is also an option. We should try Rabindra Sarovar. There is a lake there. Its a good place to hang out and there is a French Restaurant nearby which is not too expensive.

Tour Plan

1.       Balwant Singh’s Eating House (Breakfat and Tea) – Harish Mukherjee Road, Bhawanipur

2.       Kewpie’s Kitchen (Bengali Food – Especially Daab Chingdi) – Elgin Lane (Should be a short drive from Balwant Singh’s)

3.       Mithai (Sweets – Especially Mishti Doi and Rasgullas) – Ballygunge

4.       Head off to Park Street – Have some Chicken/Mutton there. Try Biryani. Then have rolls at Kusum and Hot Kati Roll

5.       Short Drive to New Market, Bertram Street – Nizam should be visited. Khiri roll is their Specialty. Badshah also is famous for rolls. S.N. Bannerjee Road should not be far off – Have Kabiraji Cutlet at Regent and Moglai Paratha at Anadi Cabin. Dacres Lane is closeby. Go to Chittoda to have Cutlets.

6.       Off to Bentinck Street from there – Go to Alia. Alia is famous for Mutton Stew and Mutton Biryani. Stew is to be compulsorily tried. Its difficult to find a place which sells stews these days, that too at a cheap rate. Bombay Sweets is in Bentinck Street too. Aflatoon is a sweet which is their creation.

7.       Bow Bazaar is nearby – Bhim Chandra Nag is a sweet shop famous for Chandankheer and Amritti. Shabbir is just off CR Avenue. Its famour for Chicken Rezala

8.       College Street is in Bow Bazaar too – Paramount there is famous for its Sharbat. Then go to Putiram for Fried Stuff. Kalika is in Surya Sen Street, a stone’s throw away from Putiram. Kalika is famous for chops.

9.       Its time to get back. But lets visit the ultra famous ‘Tangra’ while heading back to Joka.

I have selected those places and the order in which we visit with the help of Gooogle Maps only. So no problem there.
