Things you should know about being a computer programmer

You will be micro-managed (if you're lucky enough to get a job).

Whether you like it or not, project managers need and want control and the
main person over which they have full control is the computer programmer.
So be ready to be micro-managed (much more than you might think; computer
programming being a white collar occupation).

Know how to answer these questions (you may be asked these questions 3 or 4
times per day while in your programming zone):

1. How long is it going to take?
2. Show me what you have done so far (status, status, status).
3. Why did you do it this way?
4. Can you get this done faster?

Also, know your charge codes because you will have to justify every minute
at work.
