Wanted - ASIC designers, Chip Architects, Processor designers and DSP designers

A leading semiconductor company in Malaysia wants to hire the
following positions immediately. Generous living allowances, signing
bonus and salary will be paid.

1) ASIC Front-End Designer (8-10 positions)
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Efficiently code and synthesize various blocks of company's design
solutions based on Objective specifications
· Perform functional and timing verification of company's design
solutions
· Implement DFT functions in company's design solutions

Qualifications
· Bachelor/Master/PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering
· Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in ASIC design (> 3M gates)
· Expert in Verilog (VHDL is a plus)
· Expert in at least one of the following areas:
§ Design Compiler and PrimeTime from Synopsys
§ Test-Bench development and verification tools including Vera, and/or
Speckman
§ DFT implementation (preferably One test pass suite)
· Knowledge of IP, ATM and/or wireless technologies
· Knowledge of Microprocessors and/or Micro-controllers architectures
(preferably ARM or MIPS) and of memory technologies


2) ASIC Back-End Designer (8-10 positions)
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Perform Place/Route functions and optimize die size
· Perform physical verification functions achieving foundry-compliant
layout
· Work with the technology group to define and characterize company's
internal library cells

Qualifications
· Bachelor/Master/PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering
· Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in laying out complex designs
(> 3M gates)
· Expert in at least one of the following areas:
§ Place & Route tools (preferably SOC Encounter or Astro)
§ Physical Verification tools (preferably Calibre)


3) Processor Designer (8-10 positions)
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Upgrade company's proprietary Microprocessor to a 32-bit RISC
Processor with at least 40 MIPS
· Interface the newly developed Microprocessor to standard peripherals
such as DMA, UART, interrupt controller, etc.
· Integrate company's proprietary Microprocessor or another external
Microprocessor into company's embedded Microprocessor design solutions
· Develop verification methodology to company's MP embedded
applications
· Develop SW platform for company's MP embedded applications

Qualifications
· Bachelor/Master/PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering
· Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in MP- or MCU-based
applications, with at least 3 years of experience in RISC
architectures
· Expert with RISC architectures (preferably with ARM and/or MIPS)
· Expert in HDL coding
· Expert with verification techniques of MP-based architectures using
FPGA and/or communication-oriented special-purpose tools
· Expert in at least one of the following areas
§ HW development of RISC architectures
§ SW development of RISC architectures using C and/or Assembly

4) Chip Architect (4 positions)
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Work with the marketing team to define market segments
· Work with management on project and resource management, and on
scheduling tasks of design projects.
· Interface with customers to determine the technical specifications
of design solutions
· Study the technical feasibility of design solutions
· Develop effective architectures of design solutions
· Work with Front-End designers for efficient implementation of design
solutions
· Provide technical support and training for the rest of the team
· Represent at conferences and standard body meetings

Qualifications
· Master/PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering
· Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in ASIC design (> 3M gates),
with minimum of 5 years experience as a chip architect
· Expert in HDL coding
· Expert with Synopsys design flow
· Familiar with layout functions and tools
· Firm knowledge of IP, ATM and/or wireless technologies
· Firm knowledge of Microprocessors and/or Micro-controllers
architectures (preferably ARM or MIPS) and of memory technologies

5) DSP Designers (8 positions)
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Efficiently model and simulate various DSP blocks of company's
design solutions
· Perform functional verification of DSP blocks
· Improve DSP algorithms and architectures for compact VLSI
implementation

Qualifications
· Bachelor/Master/PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering
· Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in DSP applications
· Expert in FFT engines, digital filter design, and/or multi-rate DSP
processing
· Familiar with TMS320 DSP processors and/or DSP56633 family
· Expert in Matlab and C programming
· Knowledge of DSL, IP and/or wireless technologies
