SketchUp Shop is the paid online version, and SketchUp Pro is the paid desktop (Windows or MacOS) version. The iPad version does work offline, but the one caveat to the offline versions is the need to re-login every month which requires internet access. Much discussion about that elsewhere.
What happens when you open SketchUp? The terms of the subscription are that SketchUp can be used offline for up to 28 days (one month) before needing to re-connect with the license server. But there are some tricks and inconstancies in getting that to work.
Connecting to any other network, including your phone as a hotspot, should get you through in order to sign in. For features that need you to be online you would need to fix the router issues, to use that network.
SketchUp requires uninterrupted access to the internet for features such as the 3D Warehouse, Add Location and Extension Warehouse. To ensure connectivity you may need to adjust settings in your Firewall, Proxy or Internet Security software for your...

Hi Demian, thank you so much for the solution.

It does boost the online asset menu.
But for the offline asset, it just doesnt working at all.
Is there a way to download enscape offline asset library thru website or any others sources?
Im from indonesia, my connection are good, but seems like the server just way too far away.
the upload speed are 200mbps, download at 50mbps.
I'm sorry to hear about that Hart - I will package and send you an offline Asset Library as soon as possible. For the future in order to resolve this, if you haven't done so already, please also definitely send us a Feedback report as detailed here since the log files submitted may very well further help us with identifying the cause behind this problem. Thank you!
Please Demian Gutberlet also package and send me an offline Asset Library as soon as possible. i had this issue for from the time i subscribed to enscape which was on fab 2021 and it drove me away from escape to other software due to that issue.
Hi Rick Marx I am having a similar issue using the latest version of Enscape with Vectorworks 2023. The "Offline Asset Library" dialogue box is greyed out and there is no ability to interact with it. Please see the attached image of this dialogue box. The directory option is outlined in red, so presumably it wants me to choose a download location, but I'm unable to do so. Presumably the first step would be to download this asset library from another source, but I'm not sure this will solve the issue of not being able to source my assets from a local file. If you could, please DM me a download link as well and let me know your thoughts on how to solve the broader issue of the dead dialogue box. Thank you.
In this case have you already tried clicking on the folder icon at hand in that dialogue? Doing so should allow you to simply specify a directory on your Mac to which our offline Assets are then being saved to after clicking the "Download" button. From there on you should be able to make use of our Assets without an active internet connection as well.
As you can see on the first image I tested it out with a bench that only shows up in my sketchup window, on the rendering window the bench won't appear neither on the rendered image down below, I have used enscape a lot of times before and never got this issue, I tried opening other projects, tried unistalling and installing enscape and sketchup nothing works. I need help ASAP
Could you right away please try re-acquiring the Asset Library offline? Alternatively it should also suffice if you simply remove the offline library generally to have your Assets visible in Enscape again:
I have Dropbox 189.4 & Windows 11 23H2, and have noticed that for 'Online Only' Sketchup files, I can no longer see thumbnails of file contents when browsing Dropbox folders with File Explorer. As soon as I make a file or folder available offline, all the thumbnails appear. Similarly, if I change a file to Online Only, it's thumbnail disappears in the folder view.

This is a similar component library folder, but in image formats (png, psd, jpg etc) rather than Sketchup. Here all the thumbnails show (after a bit of a time lag) even though the folder is Online-Only:
That's disappointing as it really slows down identification of files when browsing for a model to insert into a scene in Sketchup. What is different between image files that show thumbnails even when online only and Sketchup files which do not? Is the culprit Sketchup, Windows or Dropbox?
This is a very important tutorial. It brings closure to a five-year-old technical problem that I'vehad. As it happens, I tried running SketchUp in Linux thrice, through WINE. In 2010 and 2016, this effort yielded good results. In 2017, it was a failure. Now, finally, I was able to overcome theproblem.
SketchUp Make 2017 is the last free offline edition of this lovely 3D program line. Since, if youwant to do some nice design, you can either pay for the Pro version or use the rather limitedin-browser free edition. This makes the 2017 version highly valuable to me, but I had struggled gettingit running properly in Linux for a while now. Let's amend that.
I installed and ran SketchUp Make 2017 in Kubuntu 18.04 on my Slimbook Pro laptop. You are most likely going tohave even more success in newer editions of the Ubuntu family range, or newer editions of otherdistributions. The reasons for this will become apparent shortly.
I started my effort with the Development branch of WINE available in the Kubuntu 18.04 repos. Thisis a relatively old version, 3.X, whereas the latest WINE builds now numbers 6.X. With the old version,I was not able to complete the SketchUp setup successfully. I would always get the following error:
Therefore, I decided to remove the old version, configure the WINE repositories, and then install the latest build ofthis program. The exact sequence of steps for Ubuntu is outlined in the page linked above. However, things are a bit more complicated.
Kubuntu 18.04 lacks the FAudio libraries, which are mandatory for WINE 6.X. I had to download andconfigure the missing packages manually. You can obtain the libraries in differentways. I downloaded the .deb file available on the OpenSUSE Build Service, and then tried toinstall it.
Before you do any fresh installations, check whether you have old versions or builds of these twopackages already installed through WINE. You should remove them, and then clean-install the two newexecutables you have just downloaded.
This will launch the Add/Remove wizard for WINE. Remove .NET and VC2015 if they are there. Pleasenote that you may not see 64-bit programs if your WINE environment is set to run 32-bit WINE, and vice versa. There should not be any issue on a clean install of the program.
And there you go. Fun and glory. I loaded one of my splendid models, my Steampunk Crossbow, and SketchUp even warned me thatthis file was created in an older build of the program, and that if I saved the file in the new format,it would no longer be readable in previous versions.
Today was a good day. After all, I've been sort of waiting for this moment for so long. In fact, Imay even allow myself a tiny dose of optimism. A few months back, I tried a few Windows games in Steam via Proton, and the results were better than what Ihad when Proton just came out. Now, there's this little success with SketchUp Make 2017. Actually, it'sa big success.
You may say, yeah Linux works, but it's 10 years late. True dat. However, there's a very bright sideto this. With Windows 11 being so meh, and the future of computing turning moreservicey and cloudy and annoying, you do actually want Linux to catch up with as much offline Windowscontent as possible. Then, when things get really bad, you power on the latest sane versions ofwhatever you need, and you use them, in Linux, no fuss, no online nonsense. It won't conquer the world,it won't make a big difference, but it will allow people who seek productivity and peace to have that.Small victories. Anyway, this tutorial outlines how you can accomplish one step in this long, convoluted journey. SketchUp, here we go!
