ASTRONOMY UPDATE: Greetings from Iceland!

Our group arrived safely in Reykjavik this morning; cloudy & rainy so far, but I was able to watch a faint auroral display over the starboard wing last night as we were flew past Greenland.  Only a colorless arc that began a subtle “break-up”, and then fizzled just as quickly.   Weather is expected to clear and cool down considerably in the next few days, and this is a good thing because there may be a possible solar wind “gust” on Thursday and/or Friday.  Hopefully some celestial photos will follow.  If not… well, this e-postcard will have to do!  (Hopefully the image will get through the list-server.)
