We can think of no better way to wind down our year in South Africa
than having folks from our church (Grace Community Church in Chapel
Hill) and from Will's church (Atlanta Westside Presbyterian) come
visit for two weeks in late May/early June. Many of the plane tickets
have been bought, so it's beginning to feel official! For the AR
team, this group's coming is a huge encouragement.

Both teams are in the thick of raising support to be able to make this
trip-- each person needs to raise approximately $2,500 within the next
month; and with tough economic times back home, we understand
fundraising has been a challenge for almost everyone. We are praying
for God's provision to not only be sufficient, but abundant. If you
feel led to support our teammates -- any dollar amount is appreciated
-- please send contributions to:

Grace Community Church
209 Lloyd Street, Suite 290
Carrboro, NC 27510
with Mamelodi Vision Trip Team, or the name of a specific individual,
in the memo line

or to

Atlanta Westside Presbyterian
P.O. Box 93511
Atlanta, GA 30377
with Mamelodi Vision Trip Team, or the name of a specific individual,
in the memo line

All donations are tax-deductible.

Here's a little more info about the Vision Trip:
We're calling the trip a vision trip, not a mission trip: vision
meaning that it's our hope that the team will concentrate more on
learning and being relational than on doing, in hopes that folks will
be encouraged to apply what they learn about the heart of God for the
poor and about the Christian life in general to life back home.
Everyone will have an opportunity to make home visits in Mamelodi to
deliver food, pray and love on those who are suffering from poverty,
hunger, sickness, etc. Also, we will have opportunities for small
building projects, working with kids/youth, shadowing medical
professionals at hospitals/hospices, home improvements, gardening
projects, being a guest speaker in our skills development courses,
discipleship training, etc.… the list goes on, and as a team, we will
let one's skills/gifts/desires determine what projects we will help
connect each individual to while here. In everything that we will do,
we will be serving alongside members of the Powerhouse Church, and
people will definitely get their hands dirty! The team will also go
on safari, souvenir shop at an expansive African market, visit the
Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg, eat bugs (joke) and generally have a
seriously awesome adventure.

Our deepest thanks to many of you who have already supported Megan
Clarke, Katherine Donahoe, Bekah McInnis, Brian & Elizabeth McKinney,
Jen Spencer, Catherine & Carolyn Stotts and Drew & Lauren Walstrum
from Chapel Hill and Marissa Acree, Cheryl Case, Matthew Carroll,
Beverly Easterling, Jennifer Ginn, Jen Lalley, Hannah Parker, Will
Stoll and Whitney Wood from Atlanta.

Again, we can think of no better way to spend our final month here
than sharing it with people deeply desiring to learn and be changed
for God's kingdom, here and back home. We covet your prayers for
these friends at the Lord prepares their hearts for Mamelodi. Thanks,
too, for considering supporting them financially.

Looking forward to welcoming our teammates on African soil on May 25!
Rebecca, Nate and Will
