Hello !
I have seen yesterday that our mame package 0.141-3 FTBFS with the
current sid. I guess the reason is that sid now uses gcc-4.6 as the
default compiler. The Ubuntu package is hit by this bug as well:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mame/+bug/770914
As the gcc-4.6 fixes are in mame-0.142 I started to work on that version
is the git repository.
Some notes:
* the n64/ppc patch from Jordi was included upstream, so I removed it
from the quilt serie ( but my patch was not :(
* I had to add NOWERROR=1 to debian/rules, not to treat gcc warning as
errors, AFAIK gcc increases the number of warning with each releases and
it was making the build fail
Mame-0.142 builds fine on amd64 right now, but due to the amounts of
change to each release I am somehow pessimistic for powerpc.
Big Up to Julian Sikorski from Fedora/RedHat for sorting out many
gcc/mame bugs.
Manu
