Congrats to Corning Opera House on being rewarded $1.5 million
dollars for their renovation project. Estimated Project cost
$3,946,000. We saw it recently and it is lovely. In all, 24
projects were granted $13,000,000.
Other SW Iowa towns receiving awards; Bedford $125,000 for
rehabilitation of historic Battery Company building which will house
Advanced Restoration Service and will employ 12 FTE and 20
PTE.,Greenfield $300,000 for hotel renovation project and $1.2 million
for their opera house renovation. Another western Iowa town,
Woodbine received $490,000 for facade improvements to 4 significant
structures in their downtown.
Great to see these awards!! This is all very good news for
Iowa, but especially SW Iowa. All things are possible.
