Malvan a beautiful beach place in Kokan Maharashtra was different
during the gudi festival. This festival was celebrated very
traditionally in the Malvani Villages. It was my first time and was
amazing!!! Gudi Padwa is celebrated as New Year for Marathi peoples.
However it is also celebrated in different states with different
names. There are two reasons behind the celebration of Gudi festival.

1. Sri Rama returned to hometown after 14 years of Banwas
2. Lord Brahma created the Universe.

Both the myths are believed very strongly by Marathi community and
hence the festival is celebrated in full swing.
I wsa very lucky to be present at this wonderful festival in Malvan,
if you were too please feel free to share your experience here...

And if you have missed the festival, you must be present at the
festival going to organised next year but before that will recommend

Malvan is my friends village and I usually visit this place during
festivals like, Holi, Ganpati, etc...
Last year I had visited Malvan During Gudi festival but due to load of
work I was unable to visit this time.
But i still remember those moments spend in Malvan in 2012
The festival was celebrated very traditionally which i had never seen
in my home town Mumbai :)
