Free Conference

Good Morning!

I know most of you aren't in Southern California and have transitioned out of teaching roles, but I thought I would reach out anyway to let you know about a free conference I won a grant to put on in LA on October 11th for teachers: ECET2LA. 

If you know any fantastic teachers (or you have something you could co-present with teachers) - please encourage them to sign up to present or attend!

Thanks Erin! Can you give me more information? I tried to search it online but couldn't find much info. I'm interested! What kind of conference is it- technology?? Mixed??

You can also find out more information on the website here: https://sites.google.com/site/ecet2la/home. We're expecting about 250-300 teachers to attend. 

We have three strands for presentations: 

• Innovative Instructional Practices: Strategies to help students achieve at the highest levels? We seek great teachers to share how they use the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, differentiate for all students, utilize technology in and out of the classroom, integrate the arts, and any other strategies that prepare students to be successful, 21st-century scholars.

• Effective Collaboration: How to build systems at our schools that allow teachers, parents, administrators and system leaders to work together to ensure success for all students? How schools enable effective collaboration, and how can other schools start? We seek great teachers to share ways for all stakeholders to collaborate with each other, with school leaders, with families, and with community partners.

• Teacher Leadership and Community Advocacy: How teachers can help inspire change in schools and communities that will elevate teaching and benefit kids? How are teachers leading change at the schools, in their professional organizations, and in local, state and federal policy? We seek opportunities for great teachers to grow as leaders in the profession and in their communities in order to impact the decisions made by community leaders and politicians.
