A boy is cured of cancer, but we are not shown how it happened. The
boy's parents think he has been miraculously cured by God.
CSM - Smoking Man - wants to make us and Scully believe that he
cured the boy. He even claims to have cured her cancer. A wild claim
from what I saw in the prior seasons, as he had *caused* her cancer
and only God could have cured her cancer (Even the doctors were not
capable of curing her, then she got better) - as in fact happened.

Scully follows the lead and ends up suspecting a possible government
experimentation, and thinks that is correct once CSM tells her that he
cured the body because he has a cure for everything.
He's dying and wants to give her this panacea cure if she keeps Mulder
out of this.

The episode's script was written by Davis himself. It's interesting
when the Lone Gunmen appear and find out that CSM has been
intercepting Scully's email and sending emails claiming to be her.

There is lots of continuity with the past here eg the boat scene.

Of course the CD with the cure-all turns out to be an EMPTY cd!
