'Missing' story found

We're delighted to announce the discovery of a Doctor Who classic, missing
(presumed wiped) from the BBC's release schedules since early this year.

The Talons of Weng-Chiang, featuring Fourth Doctor Tom Baker, was discovered in
a box in the basement of a major London music and video shop by none other than
James from the BBC Cult team.

"I was looking for the Hello Kitty section, stumbled into the wrong room and
found a box marked 'new stock for Monday 28th April'. Inside were literally
hundreds of copies of the story on shiny plastic discs.

The discs were believed to be in excellent condition, having been fortuitously
preserved in cellophane packaging for all these weeks.

According to the BBC's Restoration Team, the story is in the obscure DVD format,
but is believed to be relatively easy to restore. "We'll have it out on Betamax
and Video 2000 within the next few weeks," said a spokesman for the team.

As a bonus, the disc appears to contain rare 1970's documentary Who's Doctor
Who, commentaries and more.

The find has sparked rumours that other rarities - such as The Dalek Invasion of
Earth, The Three Doctors and Earthshock - may soon be rediscovered too.

To investigate this further, a crack team of highly-trained Who recovery
operatives have been recalled from Iraq, where they had been combing through the
flaming ruins of government buildings in search of missing tapes.

Iraq's Minister of Information issued the following statement: "There are
absolutely no missing Doctor Who episodes in Iraq."
