The ninth doctor's official bbc animated adventure
is online at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/
It's called Scream of the Shalka by Paul Cornell
and it's a six part story with weekly installments
on the BBC website done in Flash animation. It
was created for Doctor Who's 40th Anniversary
but it's too much like a fanboy creation when
the Doctor goes to drink in a pub and checks
out the jukebox. It's not what we're looking
for in good Who. Please don't put Paul on
the proper tv show which is going to start in
2 years time.. I mean this is ok though it has
lots of problems but it's not good enough to be
good new Who.. It can be much better.
Doesn't the guy with the goatee resemble one of the
Lone Gunmen?
Richard E. Grant (REG) plays the ninth doctor and
it seems he cannot act. I don't know how this
guy is supposed to be a professional actor, but
he's hopeless.
There's an audio sync problem, which is annoying
for an official production - the sound is a few seconds
backwords. It's done in flash. The animation is ok,
better than the redone shada on the same site. But
to me the new Doctor looks too much like Dracula
for my tastes. REG should do a Dracula movie with
these vampiric sideburns... The animation also
stars Sophie Okonedo.
There's a banner which purports to allow you to
talk to other fans while still viewing the animation,
but it abruptly takes you out of the animation, and
then you have to restart from the beginning.
Regards,
CM
