In case you aren't signed up on our google group page (https://groups.google.com/group/malt-masters-homebrew-club?hl=en) Gabe sent in some info on the upcomming events. He has had great things to say about the one in Buffalo County, so I encourage all to enter and see what happens! I also think that everybody that participated in the American Amber Ale brew should all enter there beers just to screw with the judges.... Cheers!

Just wanted to post a couple of notes on upcoming events.

I will be making a trip to Kearney during the first week of July and will
be able to drop off any contest entries you might have for the Buffalo
    County contest.

State fair is coming up but as of today the beer contest book is not posted
on the website. I would imagine that the deadline for entries will be
    toward the end of July.

Petersburg, NE is having a contest as part of their Bash in the Burg
celebration Aug. 11. It is certainly less formal but I've been there three
times and always had fun. This is the link that I have.

    http://www.ci.petersburg.ne.us/events.asp

I'll try to make a few calls and figure out what they are doing
specifically for the beer contest. Last year they did turn us (beer
competitors) loose on the bbq booths and they had over a dozen of those-
I'm pretty certain that cost wise I consumed far more bbq than I gave out
beer. (Maybe that says something about the beer I brought. . .)

See you at the next meeting.
    Gabe
