Howdy guys and gals...

A few things to discuss:

Sounds like there wasn't much of a turn out at the August meeting. Summertime is a busy time. Members who attended went over Pilsners (Both Bohemian and German). I wasn't there either, so I can't comment much on the meeting.

The next meeting is on September 7th. There was talk of having the meeting at Tom's house if we did not have a new brewer by then. We now have a new brewer (details below) so I'm going to make the call to have it at the pub just so I can show the new guy how to do it, and what needs to be done. I hope this is alright. If not, let me know and we'll talk it out. September was going to be our SMASH (Single Malt and Single Hop) beer night. Was this going to be a "Throwdown"? I can't remember... Either way, if you got one, bring it in! Also bring in ideas for our next throw down and some other styles you would like to check out in the next few months...

The big news is we have found a brewer to take over for me at Gottberg. His name is Ehren Schmidt and he is origionally from St. Louis, currently residing in Columbia, MO and working at a Nano-brewery called Rock Bridge Brewery http://www.rockbridgebrewery.com/ He loves beer and is an all around good-guy and is VERY interested in helping to continue the growth of the Maltmasters Homebrew Club.

It is also most likely that I will be having a Going-Away party mixed with a Meet-And-Greet party in the next few weeks. Please make your best effort to come on out an drink FREE BEER. I hate to twist your arm, but we should all make an effort to show Ehren and his girlfriend Nora a classic C-Bus welcome.
