Download Mp3 Songs Downloading Fix

Before I got my new watch, my old watch (series 4) was updated to watchOS 8.1 and had downloaded songs in that section of the watch app. However, these downloads were initially done prior to watchOS 8.1. I don't recall manually initiating a download to my old watch after it was on 8.1.
Still not fixed. I cannot download new songs for my runs which makes the watch app pointless for me! Come on Spotify, this is broken for at least 3 months now, with upgrading spotify several times, currently running the latest version. Thinking about switching to Apple Music...
i have the watch 7, running os 8.6, iPhone 13 pro running the latest ios 15 - I've gone through all the troubleshooting and cannot get my songs to redownload - this is after the watch app crashed on me during a run.
I feel I should edit this because someone provided a solution that worked but I still keep getting comments. Thank you all for comments and help. If you have this issue, what worked for me was playing a song from the album or Playlist first, then downloading it. It's worked every time in my case.
Anyone else having a problem downloading songs? I never had an issue with the app and don't want to complain, but right now nothing is wanting to download. I tap download and no progress gets made at all and this never used to happen. Is there a limit on how many songs I can download and how do I check to see how many songs I downloaded if so? This is Android btw.
Apple Music won't download songs or albums to my iPhone when I click on the download cloud icon. It either spins endlessly or will begin the download (a partially completed circle icon) but not finish it.
Earlier today I purchased music from the itunes store on my iPhone 6. About 6 songs downloaded but there were 5 songs that didn't download. I thought it wouldnt download because of the storage of my phone but I have 6 gb left. I have iOS 9.3.1.
It sounds like some but not all of the songs you purchased have actually downloaded to your phone and you verified that you have plenty of space to do so. It may be that the downloads were interrupted, so first try resuming the downloads:
