Section 9 of the manual states E50P means phase elements level (1-6). A phase element level is the number of 50P elements you want to use in the relay. We will go into details about this setting in later articles. For now, we will assume 1.

Section 9 states 50P1P is phase instantaneous/definite time overcurrent pick up element. The term "pick-up" means engaged, on, energized, or logical boolean 1. 50P1P is a setting; A setting is a value you manually enter in the relay.

We can use any word bits in a trip equation to initiate the relay to trip. A trip equation is an equation just like an algebraic equation with an equal sign and several variables. it has a TR on the left side of the equation, and we populate the right side of the equation
