9-11th April 2015 (Extended Deadline: 10th March 2015)
Convention Centre, JNU

Abstract: Interdisciplinary research in recent times deepened the dialogues between academic disciplines that not only transcended boundaries, one dimensional practices and methodological frameworks but also took noshes from disciplines such as sociology, psychology, linguistics, economics, history and other liberal arts breeding a different knowledge system, discursively practiced differently. Interdisciplinary perspectives into the educational system as a social phenomena evoke questions about knowledge and its epistemic protocols, practice of knowledge systems in different disciplines in education and the influences in which the way the society has been organized, conditioned and transformed. This graduate seminar intends to set off a debate on the relationship between Knowledge, Education and Society in the context of the rapid changes that have occurred both globally and locally where fundamental questions encountered are- What counts as knowledge?
