Keep in mind that the world is VERY racist.  Only the king's direct relationship with the group has spared it considerable issues for harboring non-humans.  While the elves and half-orc aren't going to be burned at the stake for loitering, they haven't yet stepped into a shop or inn that his majesty hasn't provided.

Andrasticial's attitude was worse this time around, but his normal behavior should be a good indication of the level of racism that is typical.  Elves do feel better than all other races.  Humans feel superior, etc...  Your group is going to eventually work past these differences because you have a unique perspective after working with the other races.  Most communities don't intermingle.  Maidenshire, for example, was an entirely human settlement.

To my knowledge there are no easily accessible links to the Tome of
Secrets version of the swashbuckler class online, though there are
links to homebrew designs, such as: http://www.pathfinderdb.com/character-options/classes/172-swashbuckler

Not sure if that specific 4Share link was the problem, or if it is
4Share in general, but here's all of the different links to Tome of
Secrets that they have:

http://www.4shared.com/document/VYXFveOd/Pathfinder_RPG_-_Tome_of_Secre.htm

http://www.4shared.com/document/5F2cT-dP/Pathfinder_RPG_-_Tome_of_Secre.htm

http://www.4shared.com/document/gcvOe6CC/OEF_-_Livro_D20_-_Pathfinder_-.htm

To download, click the blue button that says: "Download Now No virus
detected"

You will be taken to a second screen with a countdown. Wait for the
countdown to end and then click above the orange circle where it says
in blue text "Download file now"

Hope that helps.

lol,

thread of previous evening, Angel departs without any contract
requests after talk with Karchok in back yard (finished with that
thread)

thread of previous night, Angel is promoted to Judicator (still
working that thread)

thread of this morning, Angel arrives just after elves and annouces
he's going to the market and solicits anyone else to go with him,
ignored, he observes the others and picks up Dras' map, now going to
see what Lady M has to offer before heading off to market (still
working that thread)

Kethtril, another lawful perhaps? lol

actually going to the market he followed Dras and Keryth into the

Tailing someone is an art. A buddy of mine worked narcotics as a policeman and told me some of the stuff they'd pull.

Distance is a function of how busy the street is and how aware the target is.

Give-aways are being too intent on the person, looking at them all the time, stopping when they stop, and reacting quickly if they somehow look up abruptly, etc. Recognizability is an issue as well.

If they have a long way to go, staying dressed the same way can be a detractor, especially if it's a bit on the easily-identified side. A reversible cape or cloak would help "refresh" the follower's look so that the target doesn't form as many visual patterns.

Quentin would be glad to coach you in off hours.  =)

In game terms, I used to DM it as a cat and mouse game of stealth v perception (you're using the crowd and the environment to remain inconspicuous), bluff v sense motive(you're tricking the target into thinking you are a part of the environment), and disguise v either perception or sense motive (if isolated as a follower, what do you tell that target about you).

Please make sure that all money spent is removed from the character sheets.  I noticed a few haven't been edited.  I'll forgive as we are all updating sheets.

Quentin's checks would be:

  • Knowledge(Local) to know which street to best go down to intercept Shyam.   Quentin is +14 in this skill.
  • Disguise to alter appearance.  Quentin is +24 in this skill using the Hat of Disguise.
  • Perception to re-acquire Shyam and follow her. Quentin is +14 in this.  There may be a bonus based on the Knowledge(Local) skill that let me choose the best route and increase my chances here?

Quentin will not make his presence known, and will not enter the library.  He'll just hang back and case the place, keeping track of who's coming and going, and ascertaining if any of them appear to be a threat.

After that, he'll tail them back and make sure they stay OK.  After an hour, he'll return to the house himself.

He will also hope that the library has a picture book section so Tempus doesn't get too unruly.

She'll actually be her charming self if she runs into anyone she's met

destruction of the world and all that possibly getting the oppertunity
to talk about things that are all doom and gloom.

At the house, she'll spend as much time as she can away from the

Karchock and the maid, she's not going to be real receptive being a

More coming in the Final Preparations post.  This is going to be a rush.  On Friday, I'll post the first leg of the journey.  Any unanswered questions should be handled here.  We will also work out the problems with character sheets that haven't been submitted. Year end for my company, so time is short.

Nothing is being mentioned about Shyam's gift.  In case you are wondering?

I didn't get her a gift <embarrassed>.

Nobody told me it was her birthday!

This weekend I'll be finalizing all characters in Hero Labs.  To move the game forward, the characters that aren't submitted will be transfered over to Pathfinder using my best judgment.  I have worked with Leslie, whose character is the most difficult to transfer considering the uniqueness of it.  She has understandably had the hardest time porting Shyam because of this.  Erek lost a computer, so we have scheduled time tomorrow to work together to port his character.

The only characters I'm missing are Angel and Cal'Shir.  If you have completed these, and I'm just not seeing the update, then please let me know.  Please repost the link to your character sheets on Myth-Weavers.  All characters are required to be submitted through Myth Weavers.  I don't want to get in the habit of running to a bunch of excel character sheets that are hard to track and read.  Its quite simply unmanageable and tedious.  I'll make a new thread with the character sheet info in it.

Bit swamped here, sorry for delay in completing Angel's mythweaver form. Out of town this weekend so may have a tough time finishing up, but hey, will give it a go.

As a reminder:  All threads (except OOC 2.0 of course) close tonight at midnight.  Hopefully tomorrow night I will have the characters prepped for a new chapter.

Ok, the discussion of our loot was brought up during one of Lady
Marie's visits, but then things got pushed forward so I'm wondering if
we can resolve some of this OOC.

This was the split that Angel had given us:

"After pausing for any comments, the priest continues, "Here is our
current stash. Coins need to be reminted to be usable or bartered off
for a loss, 523 GP, 34 SP, and 112 CP. I'm sure this can be done in
Calsham. It's the capital afterall, not at all like the trading post.
There are also a long sword of lightning, staff of water creation, a
ring of protection +2, old morning star, and some mining tools. Some
miscellaneous jewlry was exchanged to identify the magical items.""

This was for the original crew. I don't think we found out how much
reminting would cost.

Quentin expresses an interest in the Ring of Protection +2, and suggests the group determine what might be a fair way to work towards ownership of it.

The reminting was included in the current value of the coins, but we would lose more value if we bartered or sold the the coins for something else.

Angel was going to the market to exchange the coins to be reminted and sell the old morningstar and mining tools. Those funds would be divided with the original group, less Shyam or another didn't want their share.

I think Quentin expressed interest in the ring, but other than Angel, no one else responded, so he plans to sells it along with the staff, unless he can get a better deal trading them for healing wands and supplies.

I think CalShir wanted the long sword, which was okay with Angel, but again, I don't remember anyone else responding, so he will just get it appraised for selling for now.

A few things:

Wealth for the Maidenshire group, with the exception of Angel, hasn't been very important.  The town thrived using bartering and neighborly attitudes.  I'm glad to see that the players haven't become greedy.  This makes it easy to give so much to the group.  You are welcome to change this however you see fit, but the current setup seems to be working great. There is no surprise that Angel is holding the wealth.  This doesn't include people not originally from Maidenshire.

The Final Preparations thread is closed.  New post coming later today.

Quentin isn't going to like having one person being his money holder. Just the fact that he might need money for something is information. And Quentin doesn't like to give out information without getting something in return.

I know this is an in-character conversation that will take place one day soon...

If he senses it may help him integrate into the group he may go along with it, but that'd be the only reason...

The coins can be reminted (read exchanged) for 90% the value.  The items can be sold at 60% their book value.  This is a good price reflected by a decent diplomacy check on Angel's part.

How you sell/exchange/divide the gear is entirely up to you.  This gear is applicable to Karchok, Keryth, Shyam, Cal'shir, and Angel.

Shyam would be cool with using her share towards a healing wand/s.
And would even make note that she's capable of using it.

Karchok doesn't really care about wealth, his share goes to Shyam for the most part, unless there happens to be some kind of druid doo-dad or something that would help him keep Shyam alive

Angel has some additional items to sell in the market, like his previous armor. 60% of purchase price on these too?

If there is a discussion about selling loot beforehand Quentin will speak up on the matter.

Shyam wouldn't have any problems with it, he did offer to repay us
over time for it so why not let him have a little more protection.
Means he can on the front line a little more.

Others (majority) needs to speak up or Angel will sell it.

Also, speak up if it's okay for Cal-Shir to have the longsword (shocking), or someone else, otherwise, Angel will sell it.

Angel wants a concensus on what to do with the ring (and sword) so he's not seen as dictating or controlling but supportive of group as a whole. He would have mentioned that group items not used in support of the group should be exchanged for something that is or split up between the owners.

He has already stated his support for the ring to go to Quinten and sword to Cal'Shir provided they support the group and/or earn it.

Ofcourse, all reasonable private offers to Angel will be entertained.
