Hi All,

As you all are aware Rain water harvesting is mandatory and we have to get it done some or the other day and probably no better time than a Rainy season. Regarding this I have contacted the contractor associated to Karnataka State council of Science and Technology. The contractor will be coming to our apartment on Saturday(27th July) 3.00 PM, he will suggest us the available options and the best solution for our apartment. If any one is interested to be part of the discussion request you to join me on the d-day. Based on the suggestion and the estimations provided we can take a call.

Please let me know your opinion and any best options available or if you know any engineer already implemented in an apartment.

Regards
Narendra Adki

Hi,

I will try to join, if possible.

Also, just to add that the Culvet at the Entrance of our street is not done properly. The Contractor, did not press the MUD and apply Cement Mixture
on top of that, around both side of the Culvet. It has already start coming out, will get worse.

This results in all our efforts & money will go waste, if not get done properly.

Thanks
Shishir Goel

Hi Narender

I am all for it after seeing the savings of keerthan's. even though i am available on saturday. i would suggest instead of lot of discussion just take two estimates and post it. i guess most of us would be in favour of having hasell free water supply an eventually reduced maintenance.

Shishir: regarding the road thing... the damage was due to truck of the guy who is constructing his house. the truck came over when the cement was wet..

on the other hand i agree that the work is  not finished as it may break when with it applied over and over. especially heavy truck. when its slant the pressure and weight fals on the lower end and it gives in... let me talk to amrender later tomoorow to get clear picture.

Cheers

it's done properly but Marwadi who is  constructing house at the entrance screwed it whole by bring a heavy lorry of sand and cement on the very next day after cementing at the corner was done.
Because of incessant rain it did not get chance to dry and our great Marwadi folk did the damage the most and paid just penny Rs 4000 as his share with all follow-up.
All please hold because the damage repair and repalcement of broken slab will done after Taj (worker) is back from illness.
I think for now it's good enough for cars and light vechile  and probably we have put a notice that this is private culvert and if anyone wants to bring heavy lorry then please bear the cost of damage.

Hi Amerendra\Mukul,

Thanks for an update.

Also, as per my understanding, the design of the Culvet is not proper...Why he (Taj) make a slant downward, but not at the flat Ground level.....?...If the Culvet is Flat, it can able to bear more pressure than the Slant one..!

Also, based on your input, the folk (Street Entrance) must bear the damage cost due to bring the heavy truck load
on the unsettled culvet.

Please feel free to share your suggestions.

Regards

It will be done and as I mentioned slant is not the reason for cracks in culvert. Anyway it will taken care.

Myself and Manas made a point but as usual getting a penny from Marwadi folk is very tough. If somebody can take initiative and help in this regard then they are welcomed.
Please feel free to share your suggestions.

The most important point is that we should first start appreciating the effort and pain Manas and myself had done in getting these things done. Everybody was passing through  overflowing sewage water and nobody seem to be having any concern on it apart from just making a point on this. I have seen a single thanks mail although I was not expecting it.
So, first we should send a thanks mail to Manas 'giri....@gmail.com' for the work he has done and later comes the improvement or rectification.
More or less the solid concrete culvert would have costed around 90k including stones for temp arrangement whereas we got around 62k after a month of follow and several questions on it.

Thanks a lot for your appreciation and Manas is putting a lot of effort and without that it would have not be possible. So, a big thanks to Manas, added to mailing list.
With collective effort, I feel many more things can be done like sewage-system or street-light or road for our lane or cauvery water. It does not take huge amout of time to spend for these things if people start realizing that all we are going to get benefit with these things.
So, please attend the meeting and share the responsibilities whether it's tenant ( Shishir is good example of caring tenant) or owner. Anyway excuse me for long lecture on it.
-thanks
