Greetings to you!
On this day the 17th August 2024, observance of Farmer’s Day, let us convey our greetings to Farmers and our gratitude to them! This is the start of the Kerala calendar Chingam 1, year 1200, New Year. Within one month, precisely on 15th September, Onam day will arrive.
The State Government of Kerala has advised against affluent celebration during special occasions in August due to tragic circumstances we are facing in Wynand. Due to the tragedy and sufferings of so many people, we have been thinking of not organising the “Onam with Ammas” event this year. However, the Ammas have started asking about the program and persuading us to arrange Onam Sadya, Onam Set Mundu, conveyance cash and kits for them, as usual, in the most austerity manner.
They cite reasons of their own that they have been waiting for this occasion for a year, to mingle, to interact, to come out of home, to feel dignity and honour. Moreover, they also emotionally state that a few of the Ammas may not survive till next year Onam. According to the senior deprived Ammas (mothers), a simple function will give them an opportunity to appreciate essence, enjoy a meal reminiscent of the Onam Sadhya feast and carry home something meaningful kit for their daily needs.
We can organise the “Onam with Amma-marodoppam” (Onam with Mothers) on any day in September third week – by the time the Wynand victims will get partially rehabilitated. We assure our Patrons that we shall abide by their wishes, Govt guidelines, public perception / sentiments and adhere to sobriety principles while holding the event.
There are many underprivileged, aged, uncared, lonely and sick Ammas (mothers), who cannot afford a sumptuous Onam meal. There are also unfortunate economically disadvantaged Ammas who are not under care due to absence of their dear and near ones - they are away from their dwelling place/mother.
May we request for your kind approval to serve Onam Sadya, Onam Set Mundu, Onam kit and auto-fare (cash) to 100 Ammas in this year also, like in the past years. Since we make arrangements for the Dance School Children to mingle with them, this MFG platform gives them comfort and consolation in times of distress and sadness.
The following is the budget proposed for your kind approval:
1. Vishu "Set mundu" Rs 35,000.00

from the manufacturer supplier directly)
2. Auto rickshaw conveyance Rs 20,000.00
(100 Ammas @ Rs 200 per person)
3. Vishu Sadya Rs 16,875.00
(125 persons @ Rs 135)
4. Chair, table, Mike, Tent arrangement Rs 10,000.00
(for 100 Ammas to sit together

Total Rs 81,875.00
We shall submit bills/invoices to MFG promptly after the event, as done earlier. If any of our patron members will be around on the function in the third week of Sept 2024, kindly request them to join for Onam Sadya lunch with everyone to meet Ammas.

- Gift of Vision - Vision Restoration Surgeries to 50 Poor Blind Children from each district. The deserving poor children will be identified by a team chaired by the respective District Collectors. 155 operations done so far.
- Have disbursed @Rs.10000 to 80 poor blind people as a non-refundable self-employment assistance. Propose to cover alteast 100 people with a short time.
· Sponsoring a poor girl staying in a hut for MBBS
· Maintenance Allowance of Rs.1000 per month to 182 poor elders from various parts of Kerala.
· Built a home for a elderly poor couple at Vayalar Village @Rs.3 lacs
· Provided artificial limbs to a physically challenged person. Also giving monthly allowance of Rs.2000 per month for sustenance.
· Provided a laptop and a monetary assistance of Rs.10000 for six months to a polio affect young man who cleared his CA final.
· With the support of Dr. Peter, Delhi, facilitated FREE heart surgery for three kids from economically disadvantaged class.
· Provided customized Gearless Scooters to two physically challenged persons
· Sponsoring a poor girl staying in a hut for Nursing Course
