Sub: Vishu Ammamarodoppam - 14 April 2023

The above event was held at Piravom, Ernakulam District, as scheduled, on 14 Apr 2023. Hundred Ammas participated.  They had sumptuous sadya, nice set-mundu, Vishu-side-dish to carry home and Rs 200 per person for meeting auto-fare. 

Asha workers supported and extended help to the aged Ammas for their movements. Each Amma was attended to by Asha Workers. There are 27 Ashas who did an excellent job in looking after our Ammas. They all came in uniform sari dress (which we distributed to them a few years ago).

The District Police Chief Mr Vivek Kumar, IPS met Ammas and assured them about Police help whenever needed. He directed the SHO to extend all assistance and bring the matter pertaining to Ammas to his personal attention quickly. District Police Chief was the star attraction for the Ammas because he interacted very closely, met each one and spend lot of time with Ammas.

Local M.L.A (and former Minister) Mr Anoop Jacob was present.  Also present were Municipality Chairperson Mrs Aleyamma Philip, Dy Chairman Mr K.P. Salim, former Chairman Mr Sabu K Jacob.  They are local authority people

who used to come to meet Ammas and enquire about their welfare / problems, every time we organise Ammas event.

Dr P.K. Brijesh, HOD and Professor, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi addressed the Ammas.  Dr Brijesh gave free offer for breast cancer treatment, procedure/chemotherapy. He also offered pacemaker support for the needy, free of cost. 

Kalashetra Music and Dance Academy presented dance and songs to entertain the Ammas during the Vishu get-together. 

They were regularly arranging this for Ammas for the past many years. 

We are attaching  photos of each of the above for your kind reference and record.

Ammas enjoyed the program very well.  They got an opportunity to mingle and interact with other Ammas, Guests, well-wishers and near and dear ones.  They also got an opportunity to dance and sing along with the young artists. They forgot whatever misery they had and were thoroughly satisfied while returning home after spending considerable quality time despite the heavy summer.

Ammas and every one present had one word of gratitude, coming from the bottom of their hearts -THANKS MFG and  kind hearted sponsors!  Everyone said that Amma's blessing would be with the generous sponsors, Mr Gopal Nair ji and the MFG patron team who generously sponsor the cost. We thank you and sponsors for giving us this excellent opportunity to host the Vishu Amma-marodoppam event. Thank you again !

There are many underprivileged Ammas around us who cannot afford the celebration of many festivals due to their poor economic background. Vishu is one of such festivals.

 

We all love to be with our Amma especially during Vishu but due to some professional commitments, many of us may not get an opportunity to celebrate Vishu with our loved ones. With the help and support of our lovely members, we have been able to celebrate Vishu with some economically backward Ammas for quite some years.

 

This year also, we propose to celebrate Vishu with around 100 Ammas at Piravom, Ernakulam Dist. On 14^th April, 2023. Apart from giving a good Sadya, we will give them Set Mundu (this time selected some better quality) being purchased directly from a manufacturer – arranged through MFG Charity Committee Member, Mrs. Sree Rajamohan, who is now settled in Trichur. The payment will be made directly to the Manufacturer against their bill. Thanks a lot for coordinating the same Madam.

 

The Cost break-up are given in the below message of Dr. AC Peter. The total expenses will be Rs.75554/- which includes Sadya, Set Mundu, Kaineettam, Conveyance to Ammas etc.

 

The relevant bills and other details will be shared with the Sponsors.

 

Those who are interested to be part of this may please inform us of the amount of sponsorship. Please transfer the money only after our confirmation, as we do not want to collect any extra amount.

 

Our special thanks to Dr Peter for coordinating this activity as we know the hard work required for identifying such Ammas from different places and organizing everything in a very systematic manner.

The Vishu festival is far approaching. It is on 15th April 2023. Our economically disadvantaged Ammas are eagerly waiting for  this occasion because of generosity being extended by MFG patrons every year for them on this auspicious day.  We intend to serve Vishu Sadya to 100 Ammas, as in the past, at Piravom, on 14th April 2023.  Due to persistent support by Patrons of M.F.G, under your kind leadership, we have been regularly offering Vishu festivities to our disadvantaged  aged Ammas for quite some time now. We thank MFG and Patrons for their support, every year.

 

Ammas are grateful to sponsors.  Ammas started asking us the date of the event. They feel that MFG will always come forward to make available this platform for them every year  to enable them to mingle, get-together,  have sumptuous sadya, Vishu Kaineettam and conveyance allowance. As the month of April has already come, they always remember to enquire about the date and look forward to this important event in their life.

 

We have worked out the following budget for the program "MFG Vishu Ammayodoppam":

  

100 Ammas @ Rs 130 per Sadya                                                        =    13000    (no change in rate -previous invoice)

25 Escorts (supporting family members) @  Rs 130 per Sadya          =      3250

Vishu "Set mundu"  -  100 Ammas  @  Rs 343 per piece                     =    34304

Varnasi.  He is the Head of Police of Ernakulam Rural District.  We hope that he would give advice to Ammas regarding their welfare matters, security etc.
