Dear Sir,
Subject: Vishu-Ammamarodoppam – 12 April 2025
We are deeply grateful for your generous support for the "Vishu-Ammamarodoppam", held on 12 April 2025, through the meaningful partnership between major organiser MFG and local Rotary. Due to the Vishu holiday on Monday, this report has been slightly delayed. Kindly find attached the available bills and invoices we collected today for your kind perusal.
As we all know, not everyone is fortunate enough to enjoy a sumptuous Vishu Sadya on this auspicious occasion, celebrated by Malayalees across the globe. Many underprivileged Ammas (mothers) lack the resources, facilities, and physical health to organize a traditional feast in their homes. Beyond the meal itself, aged, sick, and lonely mothers often long for companionship, interaction, and moments of joy with their fellow age-groups.
The event was filled with heartfelt moments and cultural celebration. The Ammas delighted in a mesmerizing dance performance by students of Natya Kalashektra School of Dance, followed by a delicious, traditional Sadya served on banana leaves. Each of the 150 Ammas received a Vishu-kit containing essential items to brighten their day, on the eve of Vishu.
A special highlight was the inspiring speech delivered by Mrs. Seema G. Nair, a renowned cinema and television artist, which uplifted and motivated the Ammas. The ASHAs who played a crucial role in identifying and escorting the Ammas to the event were honoured with Vishu-gifts, recognizing their dedication despite the challenges they face—especially as their fellow ASHAs continue their hunger strike in Trivandrum seeking government support for their cause.
Additionally, a home for the abandoned was gifted Vishu-kaineetam of Rs 50,000 to support the construction of their building - sponsored by Mr AM Toms from Singapore
The Local Municipal Chairperson, Deputy Chairman, Former Chairpersons, Ex-MLA, Maneed Grama Panchayat President, Chief Reporter of Malayala Manorama (Kochi Bureau), Artist Unni Chandran, Humanitarian Advocate from Malawi (Naomi Madani) and Charity Trust benefactor (AM Toms) were present to meet the Ammas.
In the noble presence of 150 Ammas and others, recognitions were bestowed upon remarkable women—an Anganwadi teacher, Palliative Care Unit volunteer, Comfort Station caretaker, and auto-driver. Each of them pledged to serve the Ammas selflessly, ensuring assistance whenever required. These recognitions aim to encourage their invaluable contributions to society and inspire others to follow suit.
Amid heartfelt words of gratitude, applause, and blessings, the Ammas extended their appreciation to you, Mr. Gopal Nair, and to all patrons of MFG for your kindness and generosity. Your support has truly made a difference in their lives, bringing them happiness and comfort in their golden years.
We sincerely thank you and the donors for your unwavering patronage and love for the Ammas. Attached are a small video clip and few photographs for your kind perusal.
With kind regards,
AC Peter
