Every year we try to celebrate Onam with a few deprived Ammas. We missed enjoying with these Ammas during the Covid period.
Now the Covid situation is not that much severe, we would love to have Onam Ammayodoppam with a few Ammas at Piravom, Ottappalam and Thiruvallamala. The enclosed proposals from our Dr. AC Peter and Ms. Sree Rajmohan are self explanatory

Ms. Sree Rajmohan was kind enough to arrange to get the Set Mundu directly from the manufacturer at a very discounted price. Thanks a lot madam.
We will make payment of the Set Mundu directly to the manufacturer i.e. Sri Sai Textiles and the bills will be shared with the sponsors. Other Bills and details/documents/photos/videos etc will also be shared with the Sponsors.
We request you not to transfer any money now as we need only Rs.67532 as mentioned above and the money to be transferred only after our confirmation.
Many of us may be in a position to enjoy Onam everyday but let us understand that there are many people who are hand to mouth and may be egarly waiting for such occasion
If any of you would like to attend the function, please do let us know so that we can share the exact venue details.
Parents are the living GOD, especially our Amma. We are sure, we all will have blessings of these Ammas.

MFG is blessed with the support of its patron members, who used to support aged, sick and deprived Ammas (mothers) to celebrate Onam every year.
If approved by MFG, we intend to arrange Onam Sadya for economically disadvantaged 50 Ammas from Ernakulam Dist at Piravom on 4th September 2022.
There are many aged Ammas, mainly widows, who are not able to afford a delicious meal at their home. These Ammas are waiting for Vishu, Onam and New Year occasions to come for a get-together and good meal by MFG.
It will be a joyous occasion for the Ammas to get-together with themselves, lunch a delicious traditional Onam Sadya, recollect and reminiscent their olden days of Onam celebrations and return home with Onam Kaineetam i.e. Onam Set Mundu. To help them travel smoothly, auto charge is also included in the budget.
The proposed budget is as below:
50 Ammas @ Rs 130 per Sadya = 6500
50 Ammas @ Rs 264.64 per Set Mundu = 13232
50 Ammas @ Rs 200 conveyance = 10000

Based on the final rate of setmundu we got for Piravom, the expenses can be revised as below. The rates will be same for us too.
Ona Sadya @ Rs. 150/- per person, total for 100 people: 15000/
Setmundu @ Rs. 285/- per set ( Rs 271+ 5% GST) total for 80 people: 22800/-.
Apart from the Ammas, there will be volunteers also and we have to take care of their food, hence 20 additional nos. for both the places together, added for food. (80+20)
Total anticipated expenditure will be Rs. 37800/-for 80 people.
Conveyance of Ammas, other arrangements for food distribution like hall, chairs, table, cleaning, pookalam, some entertainment for them, etc, will be taken care of locally, by associating with some sports / Arts club of youngsters like the New Star in Thiruvilwamala.
There may be an incidental expense of making a banner and some carrying out the transportation of the gifts etc. which I will take care off.
Grateful if you could consider the matter and kindly accord approval for a total of Rs37800/- (Rupees Thirty Seven Thousand eight hundred only).
The amount for Sadya, Rs 15000/- may please be sent to my personal account or can be
Split into RS. 9000/- for Thiruvilwamala and Rs. 6000/- for Ottapalam and sent to the accounts of the people in the partner organisation as we need to give advance because of the busy Onam sadya schedules.
In the later case, I can collect the account details. Please inform your convenience.

This occasion gives them the opportunity to forget their miseries, mingle together with Ammas, reminisce their past "glory" of celebrating Onam while they were young, collect a Onam gift from MFG and go back home with a full sumptuous Sadya .
Many of them, you know, Sir, are not enjoying a full meal in their current state of lives, and are not able to meet or socialise due to their age
Related issues as well as their inability to be independent and also due to the pandemic.
Thiru Onam falls on 8 September, this year.
I would request MFG’s support to organise the Onam Sadya cum get-together of MFG; “Onam Ammayidoppam” at Thiruvilwamala and Ottapalam this year. For 30 people in Ottapalam and 50 people in Thiruvilwamala. (Last time we had 72 people in Thiruvilwamala and I had taken the balance from my own funds)
Anticipating the following expenses for this program:
Ona Sadya @ Rs. 150/- per person, total for 100 people: 15000/
Setmundu @ Rs. 300/- per set, total for 80 people: 24000/-. (cost has escalated very much)
Apart from the Ammas, there will be volunteers also and we have to take care of their food, hence 20 additional nos. For both places together, added for food.
Total anticipated expenditure will be Rs. 39000/- for 80 people.

Greetings to you!
The "Onam Sadya" event, for the aged and Deprived Ammas, as well as for ASHA workers, did take place as scheduled. 50 Ammas participated. There are 27 ASHAs in this region, and all of them attended. Ammas enjoyed sumptuous Sadya. ASHA workers got motivated. ASHAs receive only meagre monthly honorarium, despite their extending grass root level best health service to the community, especially women throughout the week.
On our invitation, Justice Mr K Sukumaran, aged 92 + years, travelled a long distance to meet and encourage Ammas who assembled for Sadya. Local M.L.A Mr Anoop Jacob, Municipal Chairperson Smt. Aleyamma Philip and former Chairperson Mr Sabu K Jacob came, met and interacted with the Ammas.
Ammas were given cash, Rs 200 per person, to meet travel expenses. They were given “Set Mundu”. These ASHAs were given Onam gifts - standard pens for their work - and Onam sweets in abundance. More than everything, both these deserving groups in our Society appreciated the recognition they got from MFG.
We are attaching the invoices for the amount of Rs 29732 sanctioned to us.

Standing with the MFB as a member willing to serve, I wish to express my sincere thanks to you for coordinating the efforts and sponsoring the " Onam Ammayodoppam " Program, this year in two different places, one in Thiruvilwamala and the other in Ottapalam.
Representing all the MFB Members, I was highly touched by the happiness and joy expressed by the old mothers and fathers who had assembled in both the places.
In Ottapalam, this is the first time we are organising.
I discussed this with the Councilor of my native ward and she was very happy to organise this program, offered full support.
The Councilor team participated in full vibe. There were about 30 old Ammas and another about 10 old Achans. Eight Councilors in the Ottapalam Muncipality performed a Thiruvathira kali. The saksharatha Prerakh of the Ottapalam Muncipality sang folk songs. Other residents near by also came to entertain the old people. Since it was Uthradam day, most of them returned home for lunch, but some of them stayed back for taking lunch with the Ammas & Achans. Children also sang songs and performed dances. They put up a pookalam also.
We had 42 people and apart from setmundu, we bought double mundu for men also. Onasadya with Palada payasam was arranged. Though the heavy rain created disreption, the spirits of the people around were high and we did it in an excellent manner. The local LP School hall was offered to us for organising the program. The cleaning of the premises, arrangements for the program, transportation and serving of food, transport of old people, banner, etc were taken care by the organising team.

Regarding the expenses, we had arranged for sadya to more number of people. About 70 people had food that day including the people who had accompanied the very old Ammas. Also double mundu were purchased for old men. The additional expenses was taken by a MFG Member

Other organising expenses were met locally. Some photographs of the function are also attached.
Mr. Padmakumar, a native from the area encouraged the young children who performed by giving small cash presents.
The team decided that the program may be planned in a better and larger way next year and organised well before ThiruOnam as Uthradam was a bit difficult for many.
On the whole, all enjoyed the program and they appreciated the kind act and love given to them by the MFG members, though they are sitting away.
I take this opportunity to thank the sponsors and also express my sincere thanks to Ms. Latha, Councilor, Ottapalam, who has made all the arrangements for this function.

In Thiruvilwamala, this is the third time we are organising. I took the support of the New Star Arts & Sports Club, Pattiparambu for organising the program.
We had as many as 62 people, about 12 old men were also there. Apart from the 50 set mundu, we bought double mundu for men also. Onasadya with Palada payasam was arranged. The club members actively participated, transporting the people in auto, serving the food, putting up banner, pookalam, etc.
The Onapudava was handed over to many by another old person, who was a teacher and living in the locality. My self and others also handed over the dresses and assisted in serving the sadya. Old people were very happy to meet and socialise as also to have a grant sadya and a new dress.
They all Convey their love, happiness and regards to the sponsors and their blessings for them and their families.

Regarding the expenses, we had arranged for sadya to more number of people and the additional expenses in Thiruvilwamala was taken by a person, who was earlier the BDO and also the block member from the area. He doesn't want to mention his name anywhere, but I am just putting it for your information.
