Dear Sir,

Requests for support for pacemakers are on the increase. This device is placed in the chest to help control heartbeat.

Implant of the same would require surgical procedure.  There are  different types of pacemakers such as single chamber, dual chamber etc.  It is costly and common people can ill afford this implant. 

Certain Rotary Club has a tie up with Amrita hospital, Kochi for providing pacemakers free of cost.  This service is available to patients upto the age of 70 years.  Beneficiaries are required to carry (a) ration card (b) Aadhar card (c) Income proof (less than Rs 1 lakh) (d) photo and (e) medical papers. If our MFG members come across this requirement, we may be informed so that we can try to extend this facility to them.
