The USA uses a different dictionary from the rest of the World English Scrabble Countries. Nigel has however been 5-time National Champion in USA. He is 2  time world champion and now French world champion. His brain work at another level.

Nigel is amazing, but don't forget Thais have also won English speaking world championships without knowing much English. Scrabble is ultimately about how good you are at Scrabble, not linguistic ability - which is why language types like me are not as good as a lot of the maths and computer guys

Hi Maxwell,

This is a welcome development. I am hoping that you guys can get organized and I could sponsor a tourney for you guys.

I however need to be sure that we have good numbers from both Lilongwe and Blantyre, who are ready to participate.

Gimmie the tournment dates you will come up with after the meetings of Lilongwe and Blantyre. I would have also suggested that you guys meet say in the second week of August to leave enough time for planning.I will most likely be playing in Nigeria in September and I intend to play in Australia in November.

I also propose that you try to put adverts in your local papers informing people of these meetings. You just may get a few extra scrabblers attending.

I am sure Mike Chappell can help in mobilising?

Dear Paul
Thanks for the encouragement. We will work together as a team and will come back to you once the two groups confirms their availabilities on the proposed dates. People should understand that on all these venues I will be available.

Singayazi and Jacob
Please arrange for an interview on both print and radio medias. Waiting for your feedback.

Hi all,

Would be good to meet up and plan something - what would be the main agenda at the meetings? Being in Zomba I could quite easily make a Blantyre meeting, Lilongwe a bit harder. Would be excellent if we could arrange a tournament - how many people do we think might participate?

Hey Max,

18 and 19 will be weekdays. Why not push it to the weekend of 15 for Lilongwe players.

Cheers,

Ronald

Dear Ronald
Thanks for the correction of the dates. But still people are not commenting on the participation hence difficult to confirm the venue bookings.
Good people please confirm your participation for both Lilongwe and Blantyre Venues.

Maxwell

Hi Maxwell,

Have you tried to call interested people through the press?  You may need to cast your net wider.

Indeed weekends are more ideal for such meetings.

Wishing you all well. Scrabble is taking long to take root in Malawi. Let's try harder guys.

Regards

Maxwell,

You may also want to consider opening a Facebook page for Malawi scrabble. While I personally don't use Facebook, I know that it can be a very effective medium of bringing people together.
