WSC now is called The Scrabble Champions Tournament , anybody can participate as it will have an Elite section of the players who have qualified to play in it, & an Open Section for anybody who wishes to participate in it. 

"Honoring players that have competed for the past two years for a place at
the prestigious event, The Scrabble Champions Tournament will this year
adopt the same entry procedure as the past World Scrabble Championships.
The newly created Elite Tournament is by invitation only and will recognize
the qualification places pre-assigned to each participating country, with
over 100 places going to the best, spanning five continents."

Entry Fee: Invitation Only

Prize Pool: Guaranteed Prize Fund of $25,000

Tournament Information:

Tuesday 3rd December 7pm to 8pm - On Site Player Registration

Wednesday 4th December 8am to 9am - Late Player Registrations

Wednesday 4th December 9am - Opening Ceremony

Wednesday 4th December 10am - Tournament start, Swiss Rounds 1 to 7 with a lunch break

Thursday 5th December 9am - Swiss Rounds 8 to 15 with a lunch break

Friday 6th December 9am - Swiss Rounds 16 to 23 with a lunch break

Saturday 7th December 10am - Swiss Rounds 24 to 30 with a lunch break

Sunday 8th December 10am - The Top 4 players at the conclusion of the 30th Swiss round will take part in a best of three games Semi-Finals. These will be seeded (1st place faces 4th place, 2nd place faces 3rd place)

Sunday 8th December 2pm - Scrabble Champions Tournament Grand Final, Best of Five games and Prize Ceremony.

N.B. Any registrations without a hotel booking made directly through Mind Sports International will incur a €25 facility fee.
