I thought of these two quick ways:

(1) Have any of you have made a petition at change.org before? If you have, could you make one there on "Safety of Ladies and Menace of Rajarhat Syndicate"

In addition to going to the police directly at acp2tra...@gmail.com with support from all of us, it can also be posted at FB for supportive comments.

(2) The victim or an eye witness makes an official complaint at http://www.bidhannagarcitypolice.com/

The GD no. / acknowledgement no. etc can be posted by her or by anybody else on the FB page at https://www.facebook.com/bdncitypolice They seem to be quite active and their FB page abound with details of responses and actions taken by Bidhannagar City Police on such complaints. All members from AA-IIB complexes can convey their concerns once it is posted on FB.

Rana and Arnab, can you also post this to groups where you are a member? I am posting it to SS and New Town AA-IIB groups.

Complaining to NKDA may not invite action because it is technically outside their duty though there is no harm in keeping them posted.

Thanks and Regards,
Soumen

The goons cant be so desperate unless police are behind them. The matter should be raised at senior level in the police commissionar and also should be reported in news paper/ electronic media.

A serious incident has happened recently in our locality. A lady was returning from work around 10-10 pm. Some goons from the nearby syndicate tried to stop her car and force open the door. She shoved one of the goons away, and as a result the goon's bike fell off the road. Around 20-25 goons then surrounded her car and banged on the bonnet. She called up her husband who informed the police. The police instead of taking a case against the goons, rebuked the lady for returning late and forced her to pay 1200 to the syndicate for alleged 'damage' to the bike. All this has happened in front of Sunrise Point. This is a matter of great concern. What should be the next course of action? Should we give a deputation to the police against syndicate raaj? Please suggest.Thanks.

  • This is really a serious issue. There are always 30-40 persons sitting nearby to our gate and do tonting/comments/bike stunts etc whenever they see a single lady or a couple during night time. We need to take this up to police.
  • there need to be be a system for raising alarms...also page security at the gates...10 pm is not that late... a lot of residents (Akankha+Sunrise+Hiland) are up at that time...security guards are at the gate..they can get involved...if we can get together in large numbers for Durga Puja it is to be hoped people can come together to help each other in this case...a hardy group of 5-6 can help defuse the situation and neutralize these cowards/punks ...of course the police needs to be involved but we know how that works sometimes...take pictures and get the press involved...it's like a disease..only gets worse without adequate response..perhaps this guy can help..seems proactive...http://principalsecretarysblog.blogspot.com/
