Can I suggest you try to limit messages to the MLB web-group to ones that are relevant to EVERYONE. Perhaps some of your 'conversation' this evening could have been between the two of you instead?

And I hope there was better MLB attendance at the ICT meeting (and indeed OTHER dept meetings) than your comments suggest. We felt bad in English because we only had FOUR students: but your comments suggest we might have done quite well!

Each department should, ideally, have ONE BOY and ONE GIRL from each year group. Some depts vary this a bit, but I think that is the ideal number.

Any fewer and it is simply not representational. Any bigger and it becomes too hard to manage. That said, the most important thing is that an MLB actually does MAKE LEARNING BETTER. That means regular (and effective) observations and feedback; regular and efficient participation in dept meetings etc. For an MLB team to claim success, they should be able to show, by the end of a particular term, exactly HOW learning has become BETTER in their curriculum area as a result of their intervention.
